No doesn't work like that. People have been accepted at 19.9%

£1000 or less at 19.9% is often a decline, but there is no figure where it would be guaranteed, it either is or isn't.

I was quoted at 19.9% limit of 6500.
    I know i won't be accepted.
What does a quote actually mean in this instead?

Why do you know you won't be accepted? Did you lie on the application form?

Bankruptcy on credit file and lots of satisfied defaults from that.
Although they will fall off early next year.

Right that is fair enough, although I hoped you would have asked for advice with regards to that before clicking on the apply button - everyone would have said DONT DO IT!!

The OP didn't say they're applied.
  • So what have people actually be accepted on. I saw one post a while ago saying it was more about the credit limit than the rate.

Pretty sure I would be accepted as been getting 5k quotes with low APR's but would have no use for the card whatsoever.

I know that, what I meant is I hoped they would have asked for advice before clicking the apply button as in beforehand.

Can be taken both ways I guess, I wasn't implying he had.

    I didn't.
But my point is, what actually is the point in it ?
I would be interested to know what they can see a soft search therefore what are they making the quote on ?
It seems they are assessing some aspect of risk but at a very basic level.
