    Hi
Finally pressed the button after soft search quote which gave me £2500 limit with 19.9 apr.No instant decline, set up direct debit ,online banking digital agreement then it said they need proof of ID. SO NOW ITS JUST A WAITING GAME FINGERS CROSSED!

When you get your agreement / letter etc - you should find a 'For society use only form' this will say if your accepted and what your limit is - take your ID into the branch with this form and all the other paperwork that came alongside, this will be quicker to open the account. I finally managed to do this today. They said it will be about 7 - 10 days for me to receive my card!

How long after you applied did it take to receive your agreement letter?

Applied on the 27 Aug Bank Holiday and received the agreement 7 Sept, application was referred and accepted on 30 Aug but only went in to the branch today with ID etc.

Just called and they opened my account today. Signatures are scanned onto a system and the operator went on to the other system to see if its been received by the branch and and he confirmed the image was uploaded, then he pushed a few buttons while on the phone and said the card will be with me in 7 - 10 days time and apologised for the delay.

I know the 7-10 days time frame stands, but some people say they received theirs quicker than this? i.e. 3 days. Does Nationwide order and dispatch a batch of cards on a certain day of the week or are they ordered on the day of opening or reissue request?

  • Mine arrived on a Saturday. Took about 4 days after the last bank holiday but then I didn't seem to have the jumping through hoops that you have had - I mean it has taken a long, long time for you to get this far.

I know! I might ask for them to extend my 0% period by another 6 months as compensation lol - I wish!

I think they just wanted to make sure it was me applying and in a way I am glad that I had to provide ID and done this in branch. I never want to be a victim of ID fraud as it sounds like a roller coaster of mental torcher.

I have finally got this far. I decided to go into the branch and show my passport and only done this on Monday - hence the long delay so its partly down to me but I've been away with work since receiving the paperwork on 7 Sept!

  • Hi,

I'm wanting to do a Nationwide soft-search just out of curiosity really. Is there a specific link for the soft search or do I click on the normal link for the card on the website?

    Thanks
