You have to also consider that they constantly change their lending criteria on a monthly basis based on their current customer portfolio, how many have defaulted, how many paid off in full, how many missed payments etc etc based on like for like to your application - if you get my drift.

I do hence why I wrote " A whole host of factors could determine how much they have to lend at any given time". ;)

Sometimes I think that making a little clearer may help the OP to fully understand what other factors could determine the process ;);)

Just moved homes and tried this. Got £2500 at 19.9%. Only been in the UK for 2.3 years though, but on electoral roll at both addresses.

Will give it a couple more months and then try again.. maybe get a better rate :p
  • Well my ccj has come off today :j. Did the soft search and got the £1000 at 19.9%. Guess that would be a decline then!
Anyone actually been accepted with the above quote?

Really thought my file would look alot better with the ccj off, but Experians Score (useless i know) only went from 715 to 794 which is Fair :(

Barclaycard pre check still says i'm not eligible for any card??
  • I applied for this yesterday. Got offered £3,200 @ 19.9% APR, clicked through the process, digitally signed the credit agreement and entered the details to transfer a (small) balance from Vanquis. The final screen said that it was 'approved in principle'.

This looks promising, right? And if so, does the balance transfer normally take days or weeks?

Yeah, for sure, if they let you digitally sign the agreement you should be okay.

For clarity with people getting accepted for 19.9% APR, the higher credit limits (greater than £1000) have normally been accepted by Nationwide, it is when the soft search offers you up to £1000 at 19.9% that the declines have come when you click apply.

If you get offered £3200 at 19.9% APR, you should be okay. If you get offered £1000 at 19.9% APR you might want to hold off clicking the apply button.

    HTH a little.
  • Thanks Rich, that's good to know.

I see that some have had to take some proof of ID in to a branch, do you think I'll have to do this or does the fact that they allowed me to digitally sign it mean that they are happy that I am who I say I am?

Also, do you know how long it normally takes for the balance transfers?

Sorry for all of the questions :)

Signing digitially should be all you need to do - it was with me anyway.

I just bit the bullet and applied - got £3000 quote @ 15.9% (2 weeks ago they offered me £2,800 with @ 15.9% on the soft search). Said approved in principle but they need proof of ID. They did let me sign digitally.

    Should I be :jor :( ?

You should be fine based on that.
