Don't think mine have ever worn them...0

My nephew wore them till he was 6 and I have seen DS's calssmates wear them even last yr at 8. It depends on your child and what you feel will keep them comfortable. Ds hasn't worn a vest since he was 4 because he's always too warm even in the winter and would stand sweating in school before saying anything to the teacher, so I just stopped putting them on him.0

My two girls (5 &7) went to school with a vest on for the first time this year today,DS(8) was already dressed or he'd have popped one on too.Wow I didn't think that kids of that age would have an issue tbh and mine have never complained.
I bought some pretty camisole type vests for the girls, plus the usual HSM/hello kitty ones and they love them.DS has outgrown the Ben 10/star wars ones now but is happy to wear plain white ones.Out of curiosity I'll ask them later if their friends wear them too but it's never even crossed my mind that it might not be the "done thing" with them being so young!Slightly mad mummy to four kidlets aged 4 months,6,7 and 8:D:D xx

I've got some for my son but he's 5 and seems to be hot blooded so doesn't wear them.
He'll wear them for playing in the snow though - and some girls black woolly tights, well he doesn't know they're girls tights (yet) but they keep him warm and he loves it.
Happy moneysaving all.0 -

I mentioned to my friends the other day that I needed to get my 4 year old daughter some new vests and they all looked at me in horror as though I had committed some sort of fashion crime!
Have I? She's only 4 and winter is coming, I don't want her to be cold, but at the same time I don't want her to feel different to her friends. (she is starting to notice things like that).
Really?
My 4yo DD wears vests when it's chilly....and when it gets really cold 6yo DS will have a vest on under his uniform as well.
Ignore your friends, they obviously put their idea of fashion before comfort.;)Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Mine wear vests (7 and 3), TBH my 7 year old wears them to school all year round, keeps some of her modesty when getting changed in front of boys, also she says things itch her otherwise. My 3 year old wears them now the weather is cooling down. I wouln't let my 7 year old wear crop tops, IMO its far too young. I appreciate they like to look a bit fashionable, but I would draw the line with their underwear! Big knickers and vests is the way forward for us all0

DD (6) and DS1 (5) both wear plain white vests to school. It didn't ever occur to me that it may be a fashion faux pas![STRIKE]DFD 22/7/14[/STRIKE]

Thanks for all your replies, I dont feel like such a terrible old fashioned mum now! I wore vests until I grew into a bra, that's why it seemed so alien to me that people don't!
To be fair, the people who said it were the same group of people who bought their LOs ugh boots and iPads at 4 years old! Dont plan on copying that trend either!xx0 -
My eldest Ds wore vests until he was 5 his brother until he was 4 or 5 they both just stopped wearing them so i stopped buying them. They use t-shirts if its really cold to layer up. My dd is 5 and stll wears vests - my friend did laugh at me for doing so cos none of her children wear them.Sometimes i like to imagine that im living on the breadline as a single mum with 3 children to feed and clothe, bills to pay and very little time to myself........ then i wake up and realise im a princess with prince charming by my side and a lovely white castle........ oh wait

It's never occurred to me to buy DS6 vests for school, though its a good idea!
I've always just stuck an extra tshirt on underneath.
Talking of those sort of mums, I saw a post on FB the other day - a lass asking if anyone could fix her 3yo daughters Ipod :eek:I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
