    Hello all,

I leave for my interview in half an hour and I am terrified. Its only a shortlisting interview, but I dont know what to expect. Argh!

Have done a washload as it is sunny and windy here today, that is currently on the line. I might strip the bedding later and get that on to wash as well.

OH has his first lot of university exams tomorrow, so it is uber-stressful here right now. But despite that, he has still said he will come with me to my interview :D (for moral support and because I can't drive and navgate Plymouth at the same time). I think tomorrow morning I will give the flat a good clean.

When I get back, I'll probably just do some Ebay listings etc whilst OH is revising.

    Have a good one

  • Hi :hello:

Is this where you meant, twink?
I'd love to join in with you all, if you'll have me!

A bit of background (I'll TRY and keep it brief)
I'm 37, married with two sons of 13 & 9. I usually work as a lunchtime supervisor at a local high school, but I've been on the sick since June 2006.
In 1995 we lost our daughter suddenly to Strep. B septicaemia. Have spent many of the following years suffering with depression and OCD.
In December 2005, DH's brother had a massive stroke at the age of 37, and still has no use of his right arm and virtually no speech. We still don't know what caused it. Then, to cap it all, I was diagnosed with stage 3 Hodgkin's Lymphoma in August of last year. I've got my last session of chemo this Wednesday, a CT scan next Monday, and the results on the 31st

As I've had so much time on my hands lately (but not much energy), I've been lurking on here a lot. Sometimes, I'm even inspired enough to post :rotfl: . I've dabbled with matched betting and opened an Amazon sellers account. Next on the list is a Panny :p .
I've just submitted a critical illness claim, but knowing my luck, I'm not holding my breath for a payout. There was a bit of a moral dilemma involved which I may tell you about later.
I absolutely love my job, and can't wait to get back to work, but if the insurance pays up I may postpone it for a week or two!!

Twink, I really do hope this was where you told me to come, otherwise I've just made a complete fool of myself :p

    Hi all :hello:

((Gingin)) so sorry to hear about your grandad.

Not much on for us today. Boys had a playdate this morning. Talked to the other little boy's mum about going back to work and she's inspired me to think seriously about setting up on my own rather than going back to work for someone else. Don't know if it will come to anything but I will put it on my 'challenges' list for Feb and will at least start finding out about it.

Going to try and prepare the veg for tea tonight while DS2 asleep. Got a meeting with a lady from the church about his baptism service. other than that, just the normal cleaning up, put the WM on etc.

Hope everyone's having a good day.

    Hi everyone

Still trying to catch up with all that has been going on here over the last few days. We were away Friday until late last night so I am a bit behind.

So sorry to hear of those who have lost those near and dear, are in ill health or have those near them in poor health, also those who are having partner problems. Welcome to new people. i have only been here since just before Christmas and I have learned so much already - especially not to mix together cleaning chemicals!!!!!!!!!!!

Valentine - got your pm this morning and I will be in touch. xx

    Hi everyone!

Weather is sunny here today...only wish I could be out in it. It's always dark when I walk home from work. Ahh well.
Had a pretty good OS weekend. The jumble sale that I helped out on Sat threw up some treasures...am now the proud owner of a 1001 household tips and a Family Circle "Moneysaving Recipes" aswell as some bits for the kitchen, a good quality jacket which will be fab for the small person when he's walking and getting very muddy. Will save having to keep washing his school coat:j
Also moved forward with my downstairs door and that is now ready to be glossed. OH has also relacquered the 2nd hand fittings and they've come up looking like new. We reckoned that it's saved us £200 which is now needed to go towards buying a new pc:eek:
We had friends over for dinner Sat eve and impressed them with our SC paprika chicken. I also sneakily put some value equivalent after 8s in a bowl which we all polished off. Let them in on my secret afterwards and as a fellow moneysaver she was most impressed :rotfl: :rotfl:
Today I've put the bin and recycling out, sorted the dry washing, made the beds and I shall be tackling the ironing and a 15 min indoor jog [too soft to go outside and face the elements!! and unleashing my wobbly rump on the unsuspecting public simply wouldn't be fair!!] this evening.
According to my menu it's spag bol for tea unless OH fancies making something else!
    Have a good Monday!

Seroxat_chick welcome to the forum, I am sure this is where she man't to post, or maybe the introductions thread, sorry to hear about your bad luck, hope things start looking up soon and fingers crossed for you with the CT results, you've certainly been through a lot. Anyone is welcome here (they even let riff raf like me in) so just jump in and join in as it were :) Everyone on here is lovely and extremely supportive, somewhere nice to share the ups and the downs of daily life and get some good advice to save money and be more healthy at the same time :)

I'm having my five minutes, mopped under my seat, let it dry, then did the rest and sat down pronto so I don't mucky it, waiting until it dries before I get up (hope it takes a while my hands and feet hurt off all this cleaning)
One day I might be more organised...........

    Hi Seroxat_chick, and Soapy

    good luck Blairweech.

Just popped on for a catch up. DD is asleep. Moonlight bay is on telly (one of my fave films) and I am attacking the ironing (this is my 5 mins reward).

Unfortunately I've also polished off funsize bag of maltesers and a chocolate finger. oops. Diet?
