Hi Soapy and seroxat chick.
Annie
I feel I get very little done too.
Have just got DD to help me clear out three large kitchen cupboards - wash them down and sort out all the stuff so i can see what I have.
Pea and ham soup in slow cooker and chicken cassserole is in oven for tea.
DD(13) will be wanting ingredients for school cookery later so may have to dash out.
Have a splitting headache so will try to take it easy later on.
Hugs to everybody."This site is addictive!"

Afternoon All
I fully agree with those who don't seem to get anything done. I had a lovely clean and tidy house after my cleaner left on Saturday (please don't throw me out for that admission) - but my kithchen is now a complete mess again - I just don't know where all the paper and bits and bobs come from.
Well we had a good weekend - went to the ducks to feed the toddlers(when will they learn to throw the bread and not eat it).
and went swimming on Sunday
I was bad on Sunday and couldn't be bothered to do the fully roast on the meal plan so we had chicken and chips - oops.
I will redeem myself when I get in tonight and make soup.
I have cleared the EU washing mountain - hugs to those who feel the need to iron. This is something I gave up when I left home. We probably iron about 5 items a year, but make sure important work clothes get hung up.
General hugs to those who need them

Good Afternoon All - Hope we are well
Welcome Soapy, was it easy to set up an account with Amazon, Im a keen ebay seller, and awlays wandered whether Amazon is just as easy!
DLB, hope DS1 is feeling better, my DD is sat on the Nintendo DS waiting for your DS1 to join her! You've taught her summit now...
Had a crap day at work. Had a "Mr Angry & Patronising git" on the phone, He was my 2nd call of the day, and he reduced me too tears. Usually I am pretty strong and can handle these kind of calls - but not this one. Anyway, the manager (from a different dept) took over for me, he's a very sweet and relaxed guy, he eventually called me back and said the cust frustrated him that much he too wanted to tell him to f* off! It takes a lot to wind him up, but just goes to show how patronising the cust was!
So I left work with a mega headache, tired and feeling sick, plus Im nearly due "that time of the month" so that doesn't help.
DD is yet another birthday party in a bit. she has a "Better social life than me"
Just about to tackle ironing the uniform in a bit for work/school tomorrow, then Im going to do nothing else for rest of the evening. Dinner will be a make do! Allthough orignal plans was to do a shepherds pie, that can wait now.
Best go, and DD dressed. Take care, catch you later
Love as usual xxx

Well anniestar and craftscholar!
If you read the posts I have made you will see there is a distinct lack of what is being achieved at home!!!! That says it all really.
DH and I now on our own and things a lot cleaner apart from when DGSs come to stay. However, I will say my achilles heel is the pile of bills etc scattered round the house.
My excuse is that I work longish hours in a full-time job, have to go home to a welcome G & T and then think about cooking evening meal!!!
DH great at dishes and shopping. I see to washing and ironing (less now no office shirts for DH and DS) and of course no school uniforms.
I must also confess to having a dear friend whos comes in for 3 hours one day a week. She is going through a hard time financially and while I can afford it, it suits us both. She is good and I trust her so much.
I wouldn't be without the advice on this board re cleaning products, ways to save, recipes - the list is endless. Also, within days you feel you have a whole new group of friends.

Hi peeps
Not posted since last week, we had our adventure into London on Friday, spent most of the day in Harrods.......what a fab place that is:T the food hall was amazing and so much of it:D my nephew spent his christmas money in there on bits and pieces and I bought a few things too:rolleyes:
Been really good on my new healthy eating plan and yesterday I bought some more bathroom scales:oI am ashamed of myself at the weight I have got to and if I don't do something about it now I wont be around in 2 years (so my GP tells me) so that has shaken me a little (a lot) to shed the pounds or stones should I say. I also bought a steamer for my veg that was half price in Argos:T Dinner tonight is hicken breast (no skin) jacket spud and veg:T
How is everyone??0 -

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: anniestar you must have missed my posts then:D
I think a lot of people use the daily as a "hopeful" to do list as well so maybe they look like they do much more than they actually do.
Ultimately though - each to their own - life isnt all about using stardrops:rotfl:0 -
Afternoon everyone.

Shamefully I haven't read the thread yet, and I can't stop for long, but I hope everyone is OK and :grouphug: to those who aren't.
Just wanted to let you all know that I got a 2:1 in that essay that I stayed up for 48hrs constantly to write in December!! It's all down to you lot who kept me going with loads of encouraging and supportive words, so THANKYOU ALL
Takes the pressure off a bit for the exam on Thursday... Have a poetry exam on Wednesday and an Art Theory exam on Friday so probably won't be around much this week (and if you see me, shout at me to get some flippin revision done!! :rotfl: )
Thanks again to you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
jellycat40 wrote:Good afternoon to you all, sorry for not being on here for a few days but i have been very down and not able to communicate with folks.
Have been doing admin up til now today, £19.96 after vouchers so not bad. However, spending is not low this month at all. I will total it up at the end of the month and you can all gasp at how extravagant I am, all I can say in my defence is that i spend a tiny fraction of what I used to spend.
This coming weekend we have my step daughter (19), her girlfriend and my step son (15) coming over for the day. I am not very good at coping with this and I am dreading it. The SS did not speak to me for 2 years and apparently tore up cards and letters with my name included on during that time. I did see him between Xmas and new year and he was ok but this time it will be in my home and I am not looking forward to it. DH has decided that they may now be able to have a relationship but I am feeling a bit left out of it all as I cannot find any + feeling for this child at all!!!
As for SD and her partner, I get on ok with them but a similar situation exists as she lived with us for over a year and then went home to her Mum and refused to talk to me or have any thing to do with me. Now we have a "false" relationship where I feel that they do not like me and I do not really like them but we are all overly nice to each other!!!
DH wants to pay for driving lessons for SD but we can't afford it and has opened a bank account for SS so that we can give him an allowance each week which is great but again we cannot afford it. I feel like I am the only one making an effort to save money and this is one more instance of money we don't have being spent.
DH reckons if it was one of my kids then I would find the money - maybe he is right, but they do live with us and they do contribute to family life and they have never not spoken to us or rejected him!!! He even through my son out of the house for a year and he still stayed in touch and eventually came home on our terms!!!!
I do not know what to do - I feel that I am taken for granted and not considered.
Well either I have to do some more admin or the ironing. DD3 will be home in a few mins and I will have to spend some time with her finding out about her day.
Love to all - CCSTAR, Kyle and PP especially - i know how you all feel.
Louise
