    Hi all.
Used the new car today. It is great, and probably saved me an hour overall because it can actually accelerae this millenium. I need some help though.
I am getting the premium petrol, to protect the engine. Is it worth it? Also, anyone got any other tips on reducing fuel useage to a minimum?

I have an 1800 Vauxhall Vectra and use bogstandard unleaded in mine, doesn't seem to make any difference.

P.s. always make sure you fill up in a Tesco or BP garage to get the points.

    Hello to everyone.
Well DH is off work with a virus so I've been really busy today.
The day started well after walking the kids to school I went up to our large Boots and bought tons of stuff in their 75% off sale. I spent £75 on xmas/birthday presents that should have been £300, so I was chuffed! :j
Then I treated myself to a couple of items from Next as I've got a couple of nights out coming up and I've worn my new xmas blouse to death! I picked up a couple of bargains in Superdrug and HB and then did our grocery shopping in Aldi and Asda.

When I got home I received a phone call from eldest DD's school informing me that she had fallen and damaged her finger and I might need to take her up to the minor injuries clinic. It doesn't look broken but it might be sprained, so I will leave it until the morning. I wouldn't mind but she broke her thumb in November and it took six weeks to recover! So then I had to cancel her 4.30pm saxophone lesson.
I bought a lovely cooked chicken in Asda and I think I will get at least 3 or 4 meals from it. As I type, the carcass is slowly boiling on the stove and it smells lovely. :D
Hope you all have a peaceful evening.

Well, i got into the bath, and then their was a knock at the door (ten past six) - only the bloomin Telewest man, come to change my broadband and phone!!!!! Was meant to come between 1pm and 6pm, and i must admit, i had forgotten. DS had let him in, so i had to quickly get out, and get re dressed, but i now have broadband via cable. The phone is still connected to BT, cos i had asked to keep my number, but they havnt done it yet - hes just gone, has taken 2 hours for something that shouldve taken an hour!!!
Never mind, going to put my pjs on now, one day i will get a bit of peace!!!!

Hello guys, this is my first post on the OS board! I hope you don't mind me joining in - posting this has inspired me to sort out some of the house and do a bit of in advance cooking. Going to clean the fireplace and do some ironing and might whip up a soup. It seems terribly late to start being so proactive but I worked late so haven't been home long - OH and I stuck to the menu planner and had delicious chicken wraps for dinner. I'm having a relaxed evening and looking forward to later on when I get that terribly virtuous feeling after having done things to make my house beautiful and more ordered!!!

    Evening all :hello:

Well, I've not been too well today. I mentioned this morning that I had a sore throat, well over the course of the afternoon it got worse and worse until I could barely speak or swallow, and my anaesthetic Merocaine lozenges made no difference whatsoever. It's not too bad at the moment thanks to a strategic dose of Day Nurse administered by a sympathetic colleague, and I went to Boots before coming home to pick up some lemon powders - of course it wasn't until AFTER I'd bought them that I found the coupon for 100 extra points in the Boots instore magazine

Anyway I've had loads of Vit C today (a banana, an apple and about 8 clementines!) so hopefully if I carry on like this I'll fight it off easily.

This afternoon's training course was a bit on the dull side, I got through all the exercises really quickly! Still it should be more interesting from tomorrow onwards, the course finishes at 4pm so I should get away with leaving the office early for most of the week, and the piece of software they are training us on seems like a big improvement on the one it's replacing.

gerretl - have you tried asking the petrol question on the Motoring forum?

Roz_V - congratulations on the 2:1 on the essay - what are you currently predicted for your final degree?

To all who feel in awe of the domestic goddesses on here - although I'm soooooo much better than I was before I found this forum, I'm still terminally lazy :o:o:o - I'll let you in on a little secret about someone else though - Nelski's house is actually really tidy - or at least it was when I went to stay with her!

Have a nice evening and have a big ((hug)) from me if you're feeling low.

    Rzl xx

Thankyou so much for all your good luck wishes - they mean a lot :). Interview went alright - they only asked me a few questions and I think I answered them pretty well. They said they will let me know by this Friday if I have been shortlisted for the formal interview stage

Anyway, I dont know why I was stressing about an interview - just as we were on our way out of the door - OH's friend rang and suggested he come round later for a study session - OH of course said yes, knowing full well we didnt have any 'guest' food, the flat was an absolute state and we had no time to get food or clean!! Now THATS stress :) I ended up scraping some Tacos together and just giving the flat the quickest of quick tidys.

So, I hope you all had a productive day. Think I might do the ironing now and chill out for a bit...

Yep 14 lookers, and no answers. I'll stick with the old stylers, since the petrolheads are probabl busy going up and down Southend sea front right now.
