Thanks guys!!! Hope it all goes soon

Quick question - for my moses basket, is this enough - 2 cellular blankets, 4 fitted sheets, 2 flat sheets, and i've bought a mothercare swaddle blanket in the hope that he'll take to it, if so, i'll buy more.
I don't need anything else do I, i've got thicker fleecy blankets if need be.

    Thanks!!

Don't worry Rebekkah, the raw egg guidance is out of date anyway as all UK eggs are salmonella free, but M&S won't use fresh mayo anyway, it'll be pasturised to comply with health & safety.

I believe (but I may be wrong!) that only lion stamped eggs are guaranteed salmonella free as one of the criteria for using the lion stamp is that the chickens must be vaccinated against salmonella. Most (probably all) supermarket eggs are lion stamped but from other places such as butchers etc. they may not be. Our local butcher's eggs are not lion stamped so I am always extra careful with them.

Mozzy - glad you have been to dr's so know what the problem is and what to use, agree with others I am fully expecting to have no dignity by the end of this pregnancy!!

Re the moses bedding - have you got mattress protector? think I have have the same number of fitted as flat sheets so if was being picky could say a couple of more flat sheets in case LO pukes a lot etc

Twigpig - glad to see that you have been doing some shopping etc!! Bought Dylan a massive leather bone he can flaming chomp on that!!! I am using a dinasour (SP?) phone for now!! Turns out he has not been eating his breakfast at mums so hence he has been more hungry lately  keep giving him bits to eat to stop him eating the clothes pegs!!!!

Been to sainsbo's keep agonising over sleep suits think I have at least 6 newborn is this enough?

I have loads of the bodysuits (so he wont be naked if I riun out of sleepsuits!!) but dont want to buy too many newborn sleepsuits in case he's big, have got a few 0-3 ones as well could I shove him those ?!!!

Done a massive shop spent too much but have bought some crimbo stuff.

Also thought we dont have any medical books that are not seriously out of date so bought a couple from whsmith 2 for£12

Gilly - re the no 17 got a voucher from the advantage machine a coouple of weeks ago for a free no 17 concealer if you bought something so bought a nail polish then got the gift bag with the free nail polishes too as had two no 17 items!!!, hubby left the shop as he thought I was pushing it slightly but it worked!!! :D

Noticed that in sainsbo's they were putting signs uo for 70% off some clothing & starting to put some stock out, so might be worth a look if going anyway..

    Ro xx

I asked the midwife and she said lion stamped was OK. She did say though that it was also OK if we knew the chickens :D so I'm going to do the marzipan for the Christmas cake tomorrow using eggs from my Aunt's chickens :) as ours are rare breed and take the winter off from laying! At least, I will try and use the marzipan on the cake, and not eat it all first...

Mozzy, hope you recover soon, ow!

I've got my eye on some sheets on ebay, and if I get them will have a similar number to what you've got. We only have one blanket at the moment as DH has a LOT more squares to knit! Also we have a 0-6 months sleeping bag, but no swaddle thingy, not sure if it's worth a try - can we just cut up an old sheet and make one or are they a special shape?

Oh joy if I didn't have enough to cope with I have now come down with lightheadedness. Not as far as room spinning but verging on dizzy. Only thing that relieves it is to lie down. Man I have a life to lead I can't stay in bed grrrrr ... I absolutely hate this.

Lirin - hot ribena helped a bit when I was feeling rough the other week ((hugs)) pretended it was something a bit stronger!!
  • Well. What little energy I had has well and truly vanished :( had 8 hours over last night and this afternoon and still feel dead. Rubbish.

Emotions are all over the place. DD came home with a Xmas card for me that she'd made at school and it's so lovely, I just burst into tears. Then she gave me a massive hug and told me she loved me and bump so much. Cue more tears. I don't like it, its not like me. :rotfl:

Got more pressies to wrap tonight. Went and got DD some of those sleepsuits from Mothercare as she loves those and they had some in the sale. Think I'll have a glass of non alcoholic wine too.

Fancying McDonalds loads today, so that may be for tea. :D x

Sorry you're still feeling rubbish Rebekkah. Lightheadedness and dizzyness are really common and I've had them from about week 6 through till now - midwife says it's the hormones. If it's very severe (somedays I'm laid on the sofa feeling almost drunk as the floor appears to be bending away from me) it's worth seeing someone as it can be a sign of high or low blood pressure.

My Mum gave me a cup a soup earlier, I now have the most hideous heartburn! I really fancy a quick nap before going out as I spent half the night trying to get some stupid website to actually sell me an Xmas pressie I really needed, but can't lie down. :( When I phoned them this morning, they told me to clear my cookies (on the 4 different browsers across two different computers in two totally different houses?). Of course, their site was just broken, as after so many attempts, it just decided to work again at lunchtime. Oooh, best go pick up a teenager!
