I was just looking at my notes now and what I didn't notice before is that I have 2 anterior placentas, and mentions lamba sign, which means that placentas are close together. Things you learn.... I guess those things I have been feeling last night and thought they were flutters where just gas now, as with anterior placenta I am less likely to feel anything so early on (14w+4).

Gin it could be the babies, My placenta is also anterior (although high too) and I have felt my baby from 15 weeks.

Gilly- My mum's favourite RM story was posting a Christmas card last year on the 14th Dec, which was sent to central sort in Belfast and arrived with intended on 17th Jan..... If she'd walked a quarter of a mile further she could have saved a month and the cost of a stamp!:)

Mozzy- good luck hope it isn't serious.

Ginzt- I have an anterior placenta, used to annoy me that I couldn't feel a thing, but other people could! Don't think I felt much til 20-22 weeks.

Well, there is hope ;) It is just that the 'feeling' was in exactly the same spot as I managed to find the heartbeat the other days, so that got my imagination racing. Didn't mention anything to OH, as he would have just told me that i am being silly and it is too early.

I was sitting on the sofa with my feet up and the blanket over (my usual position). As a matter of fact, I fell asleep on the sofa last night again, and slept for about an hour and half before waking up and getting to bed... It is becoming a habit as I want to spend more time with OH, but every evening I just drop off by 9pm. WAs trying to watch Masterchef last night, and OH was already prodding me to see who will be the winner - I am glad to say, I wanted Ash to win!

Emotions are all over the place today, first I got manically excited by snow, only to then hear that one of the ladies I talk to on another forum has had the most awful time when at 34 weeks pregnant her husband has had a series of major strokes (age 29) and a week later is only just starting to respond to light. I just can't imagine that happening, it's awful, he won't be able to hold his baby and she's going to be going through all this at what should be the most exciting time of her life.

Don't worry Rebekkah, the raw egg guidance is out of date anyway as all UK eggs are salmonella free, but M&S won't use fresh mayo anyway, it'll be pasturised to comply with health & safety.

Which form is it you're refering to for the classes Ginvzt? I have't got one but I'd hope to go on the ante-natal class. I'm hoping to get an early-ish course with the high blood pressure the consultant has told me 37 weeks would be a 'good result' so I'm scared I'll have the baby before the class!

Oh my gosh I had no idea you might feel the baby so early, can anyone tell me a bit more about when I might feel something (it's a single pregnancy, my first). I'm now hoping santa brings me flutters for Christmas!

  • Hello ladies. Newbie just popping in to ask a quick question. Do I have to make an appointment to see the doctor to let them know I'm PG or can I just ask for a booking in appointment with the midwife? I recall last time the doctor did nothing anyway & wondered if it was worth bothering them again?

I'm only 5+2 so it is very early days yet!

I hope you feel better soon, Mozzy.

Ok, I have a question. I have been having some "tightenings" or something else, not sure how to describe it, of some sorts down there - what could it be? It is in the same area as the things I was feeling last night. Hope it is nothing wrong!

I got a load of leaflets, the antenatal notes book and a few forms, including Surestart, and this one with the list of classes available in the area and at which places they are held. It said on this form to return it after the dating scan. It had a short description of the classes and I could choose which hospital to go to and weekend, weekday day or weekday evening (not all classes available at all times).

I am hoping for some movement feeling at Christmas as well, but will see what happens.

Hello, and congratulations on your pregnancy! It depends on the area what procedure they have. I think you should call your surgery and ask what is the procedure. In my place, I had to call the surgery and make an appointment with GP, who then referred me to the hospital for midwife appointment.
