    Afternoon All :)

Rebekah - Hope everything goes ok tomorrow ((Hugs)) hun xx

Laura - Sorry I dont have any experience of what you are going through but I am sending you ((hugs)) and hope that everything works out ok for you xx

4nnabella - Sorry your BP is being a pain in the bum, I think you probably are due a rest though so hope it comes down for you.

Boldies - Who are FED up ((hugs)) hopefully there will be a mass eviction soon...

Yesterday had my 34 week check up studentg mw plus normal one and all ok. She did ponder whether bubs was transverse but put some wooden thing to my stomach to hear heartbeat and felt around and decided it is ok head down to one side. Measuring 33cm so thats ok. Mentioned the click noise and got blank looks :o etc.

Did the BF workshop which was good, reassuring to know that can get help with feeding 7 days a week at local hospital Did not realise this!! and the information covered was good.

Was surprised by how little colostrum is actually produced for baby (its stomach is tiny!!), been given a syringe to feed baby expressed colostrum if it is too tired to feed by latching after its initial feed to help tide it over. We were shown how to manually express

Thought that showing up how to swaddle baby so that you are effectively restraining its arms to stop it grabbing your nips could be useful. Also the 10 second rule, if it hurts when there are on after 10 seconds probably on wrong so start again before they do damage

Got to rugby tackle a plastic doll :rotfl:

The workshop lasted 2 hours and was run by mw's so deffo recommend if you have something similar in your area. The little booklet we were given is very good called Mother's & others guide to breastfeeding (pregnancy to 2 years). They did stress that if you struggle it is best to get help very early as its harder to fix as more time goes on. They apparently only give advice for 24 hours as things change with breastfeeding rapidly (ie stomach grows etc). Also found it interesting that the amount of time it takes for baby to feed varies a lot. Anyway will give it a bash!!

No probs. I'm aware that i might come over a bit preachy about the cD's and i know they wont be everyones thing, but i've been really impressed! ATM (fingers x'd) i'm not scared about the labour thing at all! With you on the waiting for no interruptions. I have to wait till all three cats are asleep before i start, or i'll get disturbed by a big catfuffle.:)

Good news on the semi refund and brownie points to your OH! I REAALLY fancy a nice papa johns, but i darent risk it. Everytime i've had one in the last few months, i've ended up awake all night with monster acid that gaviscon wont touch.:(

Lol, not at all! I've only listened to the first one so far but I am impressed with them. I'm just rubbish at sitting down and *actually* listening to them! Am going to make more of an effort now though.

Ro, you just reminded me to fill in my form for the antenatal classes! They do a special Twins or more session at the main clinic, so I ticked yes for that, for Breastfeeding and for Fit 4 Pregnancy. Now just need to put it in the envelope and take it to the mailbox!

And we talked with OH this morning, that we will send my blood results to his mum - she is retired now, but all her life she was 'blood' doctor (not sure that is the official proper title). Want to make sure all is ok, and if I need to, I'd rather start iron supplements now than wait until New Year until I see the consultant (haemoglobin is just within the range, so it is not like I might be overdoing it - but will see what m-i-l says)

Can I be added to the list please or do I copy and repost the existing one? My EDD is June 18th. Inspired by all these 2 week countdowns I worked out how many working days I have left - only around 80 days and I'm only 12+3 atm - quite chuffed with that.

We're going to a similar wedding next September Kira, our LO will hopefully be around 3 months old. We're looking to book a second hotel room for my mum, she can take care of the baby while we're at the wedding, and I can pop up for feeds. This sounds very rational to the pre-parent but I'm sure it will all fall apart!

Ginvzt my bp was first checked at the group midwife appointment when I was only 4+4, which lead to a referal to the doctor, first hospital consultant at 6 weeks, and now midwife or consultant once a week. If no one has checked it I would go along to the midwife to get it done for your peace of mind (home monitors aren't reliable during pregnancy for whatever reason which I've already forgotten, but they've been up to 20 points out for me compared to the midwife's readings. Midwife has banned me from using it!). You mention it'll be next year you see her - do they not do a drop in session? Mine have a drop in every morning 8.30-10am and on a Monday afternoon 2pm-4pm and you can just pop and see them even if you just have a question.

Really sorry to hear your news Laura, from the sound of it infection is the least dangerous of those three, so I'm going to hope it's that so it can be easily fixed. Keeping your baby in my prayers, and hoping they can give you some answers this side of Christmas. The flu jab this year isn't live, so there is nothing for the baby to react to, but it's always possible you've got a bit of an infection from somewhere else.

Has anyone else been put on aspirin? I'm on some 75mg thing once a day just as part of the blood pressure medication cocktail, but they've given me disolvable ones which are vile. Is there any reason for this or can I go and get some normal ones?

Which hypnotherapy CDs is everyone using? My BP can use all the help it can get!

Hi Dinah! I wasn't informed about any drop-in sessions with the midwives, and I only have a general number to ring during the day for the local hospital midwifes, and if it is out of hours, I need to ring the delivery suite at the main hospital! I know that home monitors can be a bit off, but as this one is new, calibrated (hopefully) and clinically validated (checked online), I hope that at least first readings are ok. It was 110/70, which is healthy range, and I am fine with that. Might ask the consultant when I see her why my blood pressure haven't been checked at all. On the other hand, I am expecting a rushed through appointment then as well, so not sure I will be given much time for questions. Sorry - - sounding very pessimistic, but I am fine. I think I was expecting someone to actually care about what is going on with me and how I feel, but it seems like you lot (sorry...) and OH will have to take it all!

I've found different people very variable. The hospital consultant is very rushed, but the midwife there always does my bp and urine before I see him and she's lovely. The drop in midwifes will give me as much time as I want, but the booking in/16 week midwife is also very rushed and I don't feel I can talk to her.

If it's /70 you're unlikely to have an issue, but my monitor is a proper cuff one, calibrated at the surgery every 6 months, and the midwife got me to check it using the monitor, then she checked it, then to prove a point got her colleague to test it, and the monitor was /14 different which did shut me up disagreeing with her! but I know mine has been well monitored so I don't worry that I can't use it, whereas I'm surprised no one has checked yours at all.

    Hi all. Hope everyones ok:)

i've been feeling 'different' today - well not feeling 100%. At my 34 week midwife appointment (couple off weeks back) i told her about a muscle pain i've been getting.(i'll try my best to explain where it is! my stepdad said it's where my appendix is but when i had that pain ages ago they said that was my maybe my appendix and its in a different area!) It's kinda off at the bottom off my bump and above the downstairs area.Say your linking your hands together at the bottom off your bump in the middle, it's where your right hand will be! Anyway, its been getting a bit more painful and uncomfortable. The midwife said at 34 weeks that it was prob just the muscle getting ready. I was going to tell her that its starting to getting painful but forgot. This morning i had my hands there and think that i felt babies head moving. So think maybe it's just where shes putting presure down there.
Also, went to the hairdressers today and the pain started and then i suddenly felt nausea and really tired.

Can't believe i'll be 37weeks tomorrow. Baby could come anytime now:eek::rotfl:

Hi, i was put on a lose dose of aspirin too. I've finished taking it now though-as i'm close to my due date.

I was also given the disolvable ones-not sure why. I never thought to ask! I don't find them too bad-as long as you put them in enough water!
