Hello, I haven't read back but just wanted to share this really good guide to coping at night with a baby published by the Baby Friendly Initiative and UNICEF. http://www.unicef.org.uk/Documents/Baby_Friendly/Leaflets/HPs_Guide_to_Coping_At_Night_Final.pdf

Ours isnt the whole day either- it is wedding breakfast onwards, so from 5pm to 11ish- which makes going all that way for so short a time, even harder!

Sorry your BP seems to have bumped up. Great excuse for a cosy afternoon infront of the telly if you ask me :D. I think i remember you getting the hypnotherapy stuff? If so, i recommend using the chance to have a listen. My m/w commented how relaxed i seemed about everything, and my BP has actually been dropping everytime, since i started listening to it!

Yeah I got the hypnotherapy cds, I was going to listen to it again in a bit. I definitely think they work as when I saw the GP the other week at my 31 week appointment, my BP was a fair bit lower than it normally is. I've only listened to it once or twice since then though, which probably hasn't helped! Silly question but do you reckon I should just listen to the first one, seeing as that one is all about deep breathing etc or as I'm now 33 weeks should I go for the second one? I haven't actually listened to that one yet, is it much different?

Ooooh, my Mum just dropped in one of these (but not pink!) that she found in a local outlet shop for £19! I wasn't going to get one, but for that price, with mattress and cover etc, why not! It can go downstairs for use in the daytime. :)

The second one has similarities and lots of breathing, relaxaing stuff, but is also different. Worth starting to listen to it definately, as it is more about the effect of labour on your body and relaxing through it. You can still listen to the first one as well, which is more about getting the relaxation techniques ingrained, so if you do once a week of the first one, and then a couple of times a week of the second, the first should boost the effectiveness of the second, IYSWIM. I was trying to get in 2 listens a week before i stopped going into the office, and now i'm aiming at 4. If you dont have time to stop and listen to the actual "active" Cd's, try putting the music ones on in the background while you cook/iron/read etc, and it should also help relax you and imprint the concepts more.

Thanks hon. Good luck with the assessment. Don't be afraid to raise any extra points that concern you, even if they dont seem keen or dont raise them themselves..

Thank you. I tried my best. I am not enjoying my work at the moment, so I am finding had to do what I am supposed to.

I did raise a few things - like travelling to the office, lost docking station power cable during the office move, so I have to scramble under the desk to switch my laptop on every time I come in, carrying the laptop/papers to/from office (suggested wheeled case, which is not going to be much use with the train travel - I use backpack now), I said I am not willing to go offshore anymore and not willing to travel to the office if there is any snow forecast for the day. She was happy with me to work from home as much I want, providing my manager agrees. As there are not rest facilities for expectant mums in any of our UK offices, if I feel I need it, I am to go home.

Will see what all comes to. At least this is done and I have been promised that she will chase up IT for the missing cable, as they don't want me going under the desk every time. It will also save some weight from my backpack, as I can leave the power cable for my laptop at home then!

Thanks hun, think I might do the first one this afternoon then the second one tomorrow or Saturday.

I'm expecting a knock on the door any time now as I've got a delivery coming (another good reason to have been sent home as I would have had to go to the depot to collect it if I'd been at work as planned...) so am going to wait until that's been before I listen to it. Otherwise I'll be half listening out for the door the whole time which will probably defeat the object!

On the plus side, I spoke to my boss and the girl on the team who arranged tonight's meal rang the restaurant to let them know I wasn't coming and they're going to refund my money, just minus the deposit, so will get £15 back for that! And OH has said he'll treat me to pizza for dinner instead... :D

I'd love pizza.... OH would not let me get a domino's one though and I am not willing to make one myself today (e do make them at home as it is easy, but I'm just not sure I want to do it today, besides - I don't have mozzarella to use on top!)

No probs. I'm aware that i might come over a bit preachy about the cD's and i know they wont be everyones thing, but i've been really impressed! ATM (fingers x'd) i'm not scared about the labour thing at all! With you on the waiting for no interruptions. I have to wait till all three cats are asleep before i start, or i'll get disturbed by a big catfuffle.:)

Good news on the semi refund and brownie points to your OH! I REAALLY fancy a nice papa johns, but i darent risk it. Everytime i've had one in the last few months, i've ended up awake all night with monster acid that gaviscon wont touch.:(

That's what we're having... :D Well, either that or Papa John's as OH text me to say he'd had a text from them with a BOGOF code, so works out the same really...

Delivery's here now so am off to get my hypnotherapy on...
