Oh dear... What shall i do? Just received a wedding invite for a friends wedding. Knew the invite was coming, and the date, at the beginning of April, and my friend knows bean is due end of December. She hadnt mentioned anything else, other than the date, and that it would be up near her home near Sheffield.

Anyway the invite has arrived, and its an adults only, no kids .
Now i have no problem with that, and not upset about it, as i said the same for my wedding and i knew that that maybe some people wouldnt come, but none of the children were little babies. I really don't want to be the awkward parent, but i cant see how we can realistically and practically travel 5 hours+ to a wedding and leave my just 4 month old somewhere else ( intending to still be b/feeding)? I wouldnt dreeeeeam of insisting i bring bean, when they dont want kids there, which means i'll have to decline..

Am i being a precious parent?

It is hard. I have a friend (E) who is getting married end of April. She didn't send out the invitation yet, but said that she doesn't want children there. We have a friend (R) who had her baby girl in August, and she will 8 months at the time of the wedding. The friend E was telling me, that she doesn't want babies at the wedding, as all they do is cry and would disturb the ceremony. On the other hand, she is thinking of having her cousin's child, who is about 2-3, and her other friend's twins (one of whom is her godchild) who are bout 3 as well. If anything, I would see that the 3 year olds are more likely to cause a mess in the church during the ceremony than an 8 month old baby (well, if baby is crying, mum can always go outside). However, each to their own...

I am not sure I will be going to the wedding, as I will be about 32 weeks pregnant at that point, and if things are not well, I might have even given birth by then!

Ok, update from me. The scan went well yesterday, both babies measured almost the same at 70.9 and 71.2 mm, and they put them down as 13w+2 (I as 12w+6 according to the clinic). The nuchal thickness was 1.7 and 2mm, which we were told is good as well. We decided to go for the combined test, even it is much less accurate for the twins, and got another set bloods taken. The scan was a bit upsetting, as i couldn't see anything and the sonographer was not talking really, just looking at her screen. OH was happy he could see it all. She did make a comment couple of times like 'Oh, this one is giving a bit of a show', or 'twin 1 is done', but didn't see any of it. She turned the screen at the end for about a minute to show us both of them and to take the pictures. And she was pressing so hard, I feel bruised this morning! It is me, ranting again...

They moved my EDD to June 13th, but then I can never understand how they calculate! If I am 13w+2 on the 7/12, which is Wednesday, surely on 13/06, which is also Wednesday, I will be 40w+2!!!!! I know, it is all arbitrary, but I am a mathematician, and things like that with numbers bug me.

I went to Trafford centre after hoping to sort my Christmas shopping out as I had a day off, ended buying more for myself than others! Anyway, as we are going home, visiting all relatives, I decided to just make everyone a goodie bag, and will be putting in a small box of chocolates from Hotel Chocolat (£2.95 each), mince pies and Christmas pudding by Heston from Ocado (placed an order last night to deliver tonight - free delivery, plus had £20 off voucher!). Will see if I find something else interesting to put in, but even that will do. It all has to fit in the suitcase as well!

And then by the evening I have developed an ear ache, with the shooting pains through my ear and that side of the head. Go my hot water bottle out, feels a bit better today, but decided not to take any chances and made an emergency appointment at the surgery. Will probably be told to go home and if it doesn't get better to come back in two weeks (seems usual answer to nay problems by any doctors I see - is it just me???), but at least they can look if it is not an ear infection, maybe...

On another note - when did you get the blood pressure checked? I still haven't had mine checked during this pregnancy, and I have a high blood pressure history in my family. Was going to ask to have it checked today if I get to the surgery (well, they might decide to call and tell me not to come in...)

My next appointment is supposed to be at 16 weeks, which would be the Christmas week, an as we are on holiday, they are moving it to next year, so January 5th (the consultant is only once a week in the hospital). We tried asking to have it moved forward, but the midwife after the scan said there is no point. Well, not to her, but I would rather have seen someone sooner... I also need to call and make an appointment for 20 week scan, just waiting OH to come back with when he has the big meeting end of January, so I don't get the appointment on the same day.

Ok, sorry for the long post - had a to get all of this off.

Annoyed, very, very annoyed (although I'm being a selfish cow :p )

MIL phoned yesterday to say she was driving up, did I want to go out with her to get babies bedding etc, so I agreed, had a few other bits to get (bread, milk, soap powder and squash) so thought great she'l have the car won't need to trek to Tesco to get it.

OH came in last night at half 11, and was in a talky talky mood, and spoke to me until 3am!! then I couldn't sleep, so despite having about 2 hours sleep as my stupid body wouldn't sleep, got up this morning had a shower, dried my hair etc, and MIL phoned to say "oh the weathers really bad so I'll not bother."

I can't go back to sleep as my body won't let me, so now I'm stuck here, knackered and dreading going out to Tesco, as I can't be bothered with the walk :( GRRRRR.

Oh also, Lirin, you're now officially a boldie!!

Jenjade On the plus side, it's only 10 days, not that many really :(

Emmylou DON'T go pushing the trolley, physio told us the other night, it's one of the worst things you can do, along with hoovering, as you're moving your hip/pelvis in a weird way when you go around corners.
