I've just had the nicest email from one of our suppliers :D I have been telling my contacts over the last month or so of my impending maternity leave and to contact xxx after the 30th December, and this lady came back with the usual Congratulations etc etc, but also thanking me for all my help and support, saying it's been lovely working with me and she added as a PS - Does xxx realise the size of the shoes he has to fill? Only a small comment I know but I'm really quite touched... Silly pregnancy hormones... :D

Icey, speak to GP, sounds like SPD....

Thanks all who replied about labour! Just feels a bit like I'm in flux- not doing anything and barring a big stomach and SPD, nothing else! I never really had any pregnancy syptoms, and looks like it will be the same for labour!

    That's what I was afraid of :(
Thanks, I have got an appointment next Monday. If I have to be referred at least I have Bupa so will be seen quickly by physiotherapist :o

sounds like a good voucher, will check it out

i am seriously early into my pregnany - 5 + 1 weeks but am very excited as this is my first. nausea most days but eating seems to help and its not really affecting my day to day life.

i have only told a few people about the pregnancy, my massage therapist and physio and one lady at work, otherwise its a big secret. wont be telling anyone else until 3 months, its going to be a killer having to waiting this long to tell people but i think its for the best.

i am in a bit of an difficult situation, i just accepted a new job 3 weeks ago, i am waiting for final paperwork before i hand my notice in. was very torn about whether i should back out of the new job but i have decided to go for it. i wont need to worry about not getting maternity pay as i am moving between jobs in the nhs. i have been looking for a new job for 2 years and it comes around the same time as a baby:) has anyone else been in this situation and how did things go?

I found out I was pregnant in June, and had already started my new job. In fact, the baby is due almost exactly 9 months after I started work... but everyone here has been great, really excited about it and very understanding :D Though they are slightly disappointed about me having a boy as they were apparantly looking forwards to buying lots of dresses ;)

Icey, it can hit in varying degrees. Some on here have been in crutches, mine mainly bothers me at night, when lying down, turning, standing up can all hurt.... On a good day,I'm not bad and can move. On a bad day, I'm shuffly and walking more than a couple of mins is horrible....
Mine when it started felt like I was being nipped in the crease between my leg and torso, and went on to a bruised feeling, which then moved to between my legs.

When is your next midwife appointment Lucy? I'm sure she will be able to talk you through any implications this may have. I would stay away from Google, it is usually not a good thing to do!

    Hmm, sounds like me then:(
The crease between my thigh and torso is where it's hurting/uncomfortable. So far it's slowed me down only but will be seeing the GP next week. In the meantime I will not rush anywhere - slow and steady like the tortoise :)

    Thanks!

Oh Hon. Please dont worry. The important thing is that they now know you are carrying it, which means they can take the right precautions during the birth to prevent it having an impact. Not everywhere checks for it, so if they hadnt tested, you would be none the wiser, and the risks would be much worse!

As 4nnabella said, try and stay away from google, it will just stress you out. If you are worried about it, then make an extra appointment to talk it through. Not good to worry about it for ages.
