You must be feeling far worse than I am. But I am also sick of not sleeping. I wake at 5am and thats it. Got back to sleep after 8 for 1 hour then had to get up to go to this appointment. I am going to tell him I feel like I can't function. It is hard enough just to get out of bed and dressed. Anything past that is a miricle. I will go back to bed for a couple of hours after before work tonight.
Why do people do this many times over when it makes you feel sooo ill. Gosh. I definately couldn't cope if I had kids already. Geepers. I feel so ashamed I dreamed my period had come and I felt normal again. And I woke up and feel like I had flu and been run over by a bus or something ... How can I dream such terrible things.0 -
My no1 was completely different, no twinges/signs /anything, waters broke dramatically (big gush!) then strong contractions straight away. In hospital 2-3hrs later, then had show when I was already at the stage of not really knowing whats going on. That was scary because somehow I didn't even know about 'show' and thought I was bleeding becausen something was wrong with baby!
I bet this time things start really slow & I don't realise its happening!:j - DS - 7

Can anyone recommend an antenatal class DVD? All of the NHS classes are during the day in my area so my DH will miss them all. So I want a good one to show him and my back up birth partner what to expect as they are both a bit clueless.
Anyone else hoping to have two birth partners? My back up doesn't really want to stay, but he owes me big time as I've nursed him during all of his operations and I'm insisting as I'm frightened of being alone. He can get to me in 25 mins, DH will possibly take 2-3 hours. I keep reassuring him it will probably take hours, while wishing it will take 20 mins.
Rebekah - I've had all sorts of weird dreams since getting pregnant, from loosing the baby, my husband dying or cheating, my aunt and uncle (who were like parents to me) dying, zombie invasions, bird flu pandemics, to dreams about delicious cheese and alcohol I'm not allowed to have. I would not worry that you have them or what disturbing thing they are about. Just try to shake them off.:ANeeding to save all the money, lots of MSE learning still to do

Does anyone else's partner smoke and worry about the risks of smoke being on partners clothes etc? My OH smokes, always has done and it didnt seem that much of an issue 17 years ago when we had our son. Now i'm reading how the smoke can linger on clothes, you breathe out toxins 20 mins after the last cig etc,so smokers should avoid holding baby for 20 mins. My oh smokes outside but this is worrying me a bit. He says he will cut down but never does:happyloveBaby girl born 27/2/12:happylove

Can any of you that are already mums answer a question for me?
Acid reflux. Will it just go when baby arrives? Did any of you suffer with it and when did it stop after yo u had the baby
I have had it EVERY night for the last couple of weeks and it is really getting me down. I need to know if the end is near. I am not coping to well at the moment. Lower back hurts, acid reflux, struggling to eat and drink, skin is really sore, hip and lower back are killing
Cant talk from my own experience, but my cousin had it REALLLLLY badly from about 25 weeks (when her sickness stopped!), She was very down about it by the end, but said it disappeared almost immediately that Ted popped out! Same story when a lady i know at work had hers in the summer- terrible heartburn/reflux but went straight away. The end is in sight!!:jMarried 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

I'm about 8 weeks pregnant and am completely clueless. Can anyone suggest any decent websites/forums that are like "pregnancy for dummies" or one idiot guide book type of thing. My first midwife appointment is on 16 December. Any help would be gratefully received.
Hiya, and welcome! I havent read to the end yet, to see if anyone else has recommended anything. The two books i've found most helpful are for pregnancy "What to expect when you are expecting" (make sure you get the most recent edition), and for what to expect from early days of the arrival, "Your baby week by week".Married 13/03/10 #1 DD born 13/01/12!!

sounds like a good voucher, will check it out
i am seriously early into my pregnany - 5 + 1 weeks but am very excited as this is my first. nausea most days but eating seems to help and its not really affecting my day to day life.
i have only told a few people about the pregnancy, my massage therapist and physio and one lady at work, otherwise its a big secret. wont be telling anyone else until 3 months, its going to be a killer having to waiting this long to tell people but i think its for the best.
i am in a bit of an difficult situation, i just accepted a new job 3 weeks ago, i am waiting for final paperwork before i hand my notice in. was very torn about whether i should back out of the new job but i have decided to go for it. i wont need to worry about not getting maternity pay as i am moving between jobs in the nhs. i have been looking for a new job for 2 years and it comes around the same time as a baby:) has anyone else been in this situation and how did things go?
