Thanks Mozzy - feels very surreal to be 24weeks pregnant (nearly anyway) Honestly never thought id ever get preg let alone be nearly viable :S

3D/4D scans packages vary loads round here literally 10mins drive between same company places means a difference in price of about £20 for the basic package- which isnt to be sniffed at really.

After my midwife appointment this week we are booking our 4d scan - cant wait :D

I couldnt of mentally prepared myself for being preg if i hadnt had a 12week scan truthfully. Cause Id of struggled to accept it was all going ok without seeing him/her at 13weeks, and i had an early wriggler which helped but couldnt imagine it personally.

Off to look at the body shop :) might start getting a few bday presents for between Christmas and April - Already been and bought all the birthday cards Ill need between then, just have the valentines and mothers day cards left to get when they are in store :)
And ill probably go get a bundle of Xmas cards from the posh card shop after Christmas which will work out cheaper than the cheaper rammed card shop next Christmas - I am a control freak :s
Love is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together

Ah, i'm what my friends call a Scouse African - born in Liverpool 1976, but my parents emigrated to South Africa when I was 5, which is where I spent most of my life. And came back to the UK in 2000. Was in Liverpool 2000, Dartford 2005-2009, Teddington 2009-2011, now i'm in Hampton!
I guess i've moved around quite a bit haha

LOLOLOL. Ahh,one of the well known scouse africans, i see! :).

Looks like we missed each other then- between 2003-2009 i've been in Twickers, Tedders (Hampton wick really!), Kingston and then to SW19 when i moved in "formally" with DH. Have spent many many many hours driving through Hampton on my work to work....

    Afternoon Girls,

Did you all have a good weekend?

Could some of you that are suffering with SPD give me some advice, I'm not sure if I have the beginnings of something or not. I have been having twinges for a few weeks in my left hip at the front where the crease is between your leg and body?

Now it's getting more uncomfortable, not a sharp pain but an dull pain/ache and very uncomfortable. I feel like I am lurching from left to right when I walk and that my left leg is shorter than the other. It's more painful (ish) when I first get up from sitting and then walking about, sometimes it wears off but now it's most of the time and its unusual for it not to be uncomfortable.

I've made an appointment to see my GP, but not until next Monday - the earliest I could get that fits around work. Unfortunately I work and hour away from where I live so getting an appointment can be a pain that doesn't involve driving to/from work twice in a day.

    Thanks!

You must be feeling far worse than I am. But I am also sick of not sleeping. I wake at 5am and thats it. Got back to sleep after 8 for 1 hour then had to get up to go to this appointment. I am going to tell him I feel like I can't function. It is hard enough just to get out of bed and dressed. Anything past that is a miricle. I will go back to bed for a couple of hours after before work tonight.

Why do people do this many times over when it makes you feel sooo ill. Gosh. I definately couldn't cope if I had kids already. Geepers. I feel so ashamed I dreamed my period had come and I felt normal again. And I woke up and feel like I had flu and been run over by a bus or something ... How can I dream such terrible things.

these were almost my words exactly at the beginning! how do people do it loads of times and how do they cope with another child to look after - i cud barely look after myself! i feel ur sickness rebekah! mine was the same! i ended up having 3 weeks of work in the first trimester coz i felt like i just cudnt function. mine got easier around 10 weeks. it will get better and u will start enjoying it i promise! chin up! :)

Does anyone else's partner smoke and worry about the risks of smoke being on partners clothes etc? My OH smokes, always has done and it didnt seem that much of an issue 17 years ago when we had our son. Now i'm reading how the smoke can linger on clothes, you breathe out toxins 20 mins after the last cig etc,so smokers should avoid holding baby for 20 mins. My oh smokes outside but this is worrying me a bit. He says he will cut down but never does :(

I've told mine that he isn't allowed inside if he doesn't quit!! He's promised he will, and I think he will. I was a smoker but gave up the minute I found out I was pregnant, and haven't touched one since. But I suppose being pregnant it is an easier decision.

hey lovelies, just thought I'd post whilst I'm waiting for the HV, thought she was coming at 1.30!

Jenjade, I had realllllly bad acid reflux, I was drinking gaviscon like it was going out of fashion along with milk antacid tablets etc etc, but as soon as I had baby, it literally disappeared, its really strange to eat something and not get that horrible feeling, so the end is in sight my dear.

Lirin, I didn't have a show at all, when my waters broke was the first thing I knew about my labour and my contractions didn't start for another 5ish hours.

ginvzt I got all my underwear from figleaves, its lovely :)

grrrr where is the $odding HV?
  • I am being kicked to death today. Feels very weird.

Icey, speak to GP, sounds like SPD....

Thanks all who replied about labour! Just feels a bit like I'm in flux- not doing anything and barring a big stomach and SPD, nothing else! I never really had any pregnancy syptoms, and looks like it will be the same for labour!
