She got two days off a week which varied week to week and was expected to do one evening a week babysitting. She took part with the family activities and days out just like a big sister really.

Maybe an option for someone who has a spare room, doesnt mind sharing their home and only needs assistance with the kids a few days a week. Obviously a bit different if you need full time childminders more than a couple of days a week.

I think there are specific rules taht apply to Au Pairs, I think they are supposed to be learning the language, they cannot be left to care for babies under 2 alone, and work no more than 25 hours in 5 days, 2 days off.

Thanks Aimless. So (excuse as i'm a planner), would you give birth in a nighty so they have access to down below, then change before you breastfeed into your nursing pj's?

Mozzy, I gave birth to DD1 in a nightie, and tbh, it was just a pain in the rear end! DD2 i didnt have time to get changed, and still had my tshirt on lol, was so much easier, it wasnt having to be pulled up out of the way all of the time. DD3 was the same, i had my tshirt on, and a sheet round my bottom half until the contractions came thick and fast and it just came off! Trust me, once ur in full blown labour, u wont care ur bum is hanging out haah! xx
