We're the same Annabella, we only moved in here 6 months ago (ooh OH and I had our 6 months anniversary of co-habiting on Friday!) and don't plan on being here very long, the place is tiny, no place to store a Christmas tree once it's taken down, no room to put a tree up, baby crap all over the place AND we're not here for Christmas Day anyway. Plus can I really be bothered putting a tree up, decorating it all and then bringing it all down while 7/8 months pregnant, can I fook.

This is exactly my thought process too :D Glad I'm not the only one! We don't really have *that* much space for a tree, although I could make space if I wanted too. Plus the house is full of enough carp as is it. We have a loft but I purposefully didn't want to stick anything up there as it's full of the landlord's stuff I think, plus I didn't want the hassle of having to get it all down as and when we move again.

Congrats on your 6-months-cohabiting anniversary! Just realised that OH and I have been in our house 2 years today :D

  • Hello everyone

Was away in York christmas shopping Friday and Saturday and then decided to clean all downstairs at home yesterday. Think i may have overdone it slightly :) I've got quite bad pain low down in my pelvis, like a bruised pain between my legs and every now and then it feels like someone is trying to pull my left leg off :) Well after such a busy weekend it's 10 times worse and i had a bit of a struggle getting up and going as i was in so much discomfort this morning. Midwife gave me the number of Physio when i saw her last week so may have to give them a ring for some advice.

26 weeks today :) Keep thinking only 10 weeks left at work and that includes the week we're closed for christmas. I'm at the stage now where i keep thinking 'This is the last time we'll do this without baby' :)

    Hope everyone is well x

Aimless, I was going to buy the angel care motion sensor set, do you know if it recommends fitted sheets over flat sheets? As that will defiantly affect my choice of crib verses Moses basket?

I think it is more a case of not using too big sheets and having tons of extra shoved under the mattress, but I'll just dig out the instructions.... 'do not tuck thick bedding under the edges of the mattress'. It doesn't specifically say about fitted or flat sheets, I was more thinking if I economised and used either cot or single sheets, there'd be loads over to tuck in!

With 9 weeks to go, I'm now living in yoga trousers/sweatpants. My bigger sized jeans are just not comfy anymore and I can't find any decent plus size maternity jeans. Ah well, think of the money I'm saving in not buying any more clothes..... :rotfl:

If only you can find some, dungarees are the way forward! :D I only don't wear mine when I have appointments, cos it is harder to get my belly out. So comfy compared to maternity jeans! :D

Thanks for the sheet recommendations everyone, think Toys R Us work out the same per pack as Mamas and Papas once I factor in postage and the £10 off coupon I've got. Guess that's just how much sheets cost, ouch! :D

    Afternoon Girlies,

How are you all? I've been rather quiet but have been lurking and reading everything. It all felt a bit strange leaving the 12-24 week thread and joining the big girls thread ;)

Does anyone feel like sharing their weight gains to date? I'm 26+2 today and according to the evil scales I have put on 7lbs so far. I'm not sure if I should be worried or if this is OK? I'm seeing the MW on Friday so will ask her also.

I've been counting my days in the office until holiday/maternity leave starts and I have 41.5 which is nice. This week and the week of 30th Jan are the only weeks I am working the whole 5 days, all the rest I have the Friday off as holiday to use it up :D working a 4 day week is indescribably lovely :p

BTW, does anyone want my EURO huggies vouchers? They are the ones you get from the Huggies starter packs, only the one set but it's worth €5. Will be happy to post, just PM me and I'll get them into the letterbox :)

Regarding the Christmas Tree and decorations, Snoop Cat and I will be putting up ours this weekend whilst DH is at work. Have to be honest though, not sure how much help the cat will be, last year he wasn't really big enough to make the leap from the chair to the sideboard where the tree usually is ... this year he might have it :rotfl:

  • Hm lip balm maybe although I'm going au natural so no gas and air (hopefully!) MW been, if flump hasn't grown by 9th Dec there is talk of being induced (i know its wrong to want that bit I wanna meet her!) They also said there is much doubt that I will be released from hospital straight away - no matter when she comes - as they want to observe us because of my meds.

Icey - I'm 36 weeks today and weight gain is 21lb. They say on average by 40 weeks you will have put on 28lb - wouldn't worry about your weight but remember there's no such thing as eating for two - even on late pregnancy you only need an extra 200 calories a day (so a jacket spud!)

Another no xmas tree here! DD has a small one for her room but that's it.
