Far too close Lirin, I can't wait to meet your little bundle, and hopefully not feel terrified at even holding him/her. Babies scare me far too much, they say it changed when you have your own...
Mimi - I have no idea regarding hospital bag, I'm planning on following the list from here. Then a little extra bag for OH to bring in case it's needed. I'm an everything but the kitchen sink sorta gal thoughThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Happy belated Birthday mozzy!
Congrats neas, wow that's a huge baby!!!!
It's mine and my Dad's birthday on ThursdayDad's visiting this weekend, then there's a family party the following weekend, as Dad's birthday is quite a significant number.... Without him even putting his house on the market, it's sold to a friend of his for the price he wanted, so looks like he'll be moving up here sooner rather than later. Useful for babysitting anyway
So we have another househunting session on Friday, which is quite fun as I like being nosy around other people's houses...

Was wondering about Twigpig too....
I'm here and still reading.... I always thank all the posts as I read them, so you'll know I'm always popping in
Hubby and me popped down for a look around our hospital yesterday. All the delivery rooms are all singles with their own bathroom and you'd stay in these for for at least the first night after delivery and partners can also stay over for the first night. The post delivery rooms and also single rooms, some with their own bathroom or sharing with the room next door. I was surprised at how big all of the rooms were. I guess there could easily be 4/5 people in the room at delivery time....
They said that they recommend not to bath the baby until 24/48 hours later and in most cases, you'll be home by then, so not to bother packing bathing things.
Our ante-natal classes start next weekend, so it's all becoming quite real, lol. I'm now trying to finish off buying all the little things that we still need, so we can relax for the last few weeks after xmas.
With 9 weeks to go, I'm now living in yoga trousers/sweatpants. My bigger sized jeans are just not comfy anymore and I can't find any decent plus size maternity jeans. Ah well, think of the money I'm saving in not buying any more clothes..... :rotfl:TTC #3..........0 -
How do you keep it up ladies? I am trying to work from home today, but all I can think of is a pillow and duvet! I am so tired, I could easily drop off for a few hours, but I am already falling back with my work, so forcing myself to sit at the desk and keep working.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

Happy birthday Mozzy!
Congrats Neas!
Aimless, I was going to buy the angel care motion sensor set, do you know if it recommends fitted sheets over flat sheets? As that will defiantly affect my choice of crib verses Moses basket?
Cloudberry, check out your local free paper, I've seen a bunch of gliders/rockers in mine, which you could look at before you buy.
Kira, I would defiantly go earlier to the appointment if it were me!
Mimi, lip balm for the gas and air/ward heat? Food and drink? Then I thought of a book for all that free time you will have, but I realised my stupidity for this thought!
I wanted to share my bargin from the M & P outlet store in Stoke on Trent. I bought a Sola travel system pushchair for £99 as it had a missing piece (newborn head hugger thingy) , which I bought in the same store for £12 and this set came with an extra seat liner. So i got it all for £111 instead of £ 275! I cannot return it for a refund but it comes with the 12 month guarantee.
Coming out of the store, DH is über happy and bouncing as he is pushing the pram (he is also proud that he is the one that spotted the bargin after being told all the cute things he has picked up for the previous two hours of shopping is too expensive). He turns back to me beaming saying "don't you think it all seems real now we have the pram?" I'm hobbling after him saying "real, it's felt pretty really for me, everytime I move, or it kicks the s*** out of my stomach for the last couple of months" the other pregnant women coming in to the store are all grinning at us. Good job DH can just ignore my grumpy.
Then we get to the car an put all of the other stuff in the back seat (mini cooper) and we start to dismantle the pushchair and realise we have no idea how it collapses as the sales assistant was the one who folded it and put it into the boot 10 minutes before. We were so pleased to finally find one that fitted. We press buttons and hope for the best for a few minutes before the lady who was getting her new baby out of her car takes pity on us and comes and shows us how to do it. So she had a good laught at us as she folded it down. We of course thank her profusely and she kindly says it will become second nature. We get the boot closed and get in the car, and DH starts singing "we are having a baby, we have bought a pushchair":ANeeding to save all the money, lots of MSE learning still to do

I'm sooooo tired today
Woke up at 3am with heartburn, took a tablet but it didn't really do anything. I probably should have gone and got a glass of milk or taken a different tablet but I couldn't be bothered to get up... :rotfl: Then I was wide awake until about 4.30am as I couldn't get comfortable enough to go back to sleep, I was too hot, then too cold, then I didn't have enough space in bed, etc etc, then I think I finally dozed a bit until 6.30 when the radio came on. So am officially zombiefied today. OH has got his kickboxing club tonight, I fully intend to go to bed when he leaves the house at 7.30...
Congratulations neas - glad everything went ok in the end and mother and baby are doing well.
As much as I would like to, we don't bother putting Christmas decorations up. I have said that I will make an effort once Pip is older and maybe if we're spending Christmas Day at our own house but we always go to either my parents or PILs for the day itself at the moment, alternating where we go each year, so it just seems a bit pointless to put decorations up at home. Plus as and when we get a tree, I'm sure my two cats will try to climb it, or attack it, so I'd rather not have to deal with coming home to a knocked-over tree every day... I realise that I sound very 'bah humbug' and I'm not really, I love Christmas, I guess I'm just lazy:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0 -
Ladies - have to tell you about this bargain - http://www.buyapowa.com/deal/120
Its a Burts Bees baby starter kit, the more people that buy the cheaper it gets - last time it was on the site it did sell for £6 and that includes free delivery. If you look anywhere else you will see that it is normally quite expensive but its such good stuff! If anyone does buy a kit please click on my name at the end to say I referred you - my name is Vikki - dont think there are anymore Vikkis on there so you should find me - only 11 bought so far:T baby boy born 01/01/2012 my New Years Day Boy

We're the same Annabella, we only moved in here 6 months ago (ooh OH and I had our 6 months anniversary of co-habiting on Friday!) and don't plan on being here very long, the place is tiny, no place to store a Christmas tree once it's taken down, no room to put a tree up, baby crap all over the place AND we're not here for Christmas Day anyway. Plus can I really be bothered putting a tree up, decorating it all and then bringing it all down while 7/8 months pregnant, can I fook. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
