How come my bump is giant, but as soon as I zip up my jumper, it disappears?! First the lady in Boots couldn't work out why I was asking which heartburn stuff I could have and needed it pointing out. Then, a lady I know came up to me in the pub and asked if it was true I'd had a baby since she saw me last? I stood up, pulled my top tight, and said 'not quite'. :D

Anyone with a crib, where are you buying your sheets? I want some fitted ones as I have the breathing sensor and don't want tons of extra sheet interfering with it, or I'd just use big ones. I'm having trouble finding cheap ones anywhere, best I've found is 3 for 2 at Mamas and Papas and then use my £10 off, still comes to nearly 24 quid for a couple of packs of crib sheets and a pack of travel cot ones. Even secondhand ones on Ebay seem quite expensive. Anyone found any nice but decently cheap ones? At this rate I'll dither till the coupon runs out :D
  • I just never have time to read back for the last few pages! Im looking into buying a rocking/nurshing chair - has anyone bought one and can recommend any ? I saw a nice one on kiddicare.com for £139 but am now looking on ebay and can find something similar for around £110 ....not sure how I feel about buying through ebay though?

  • Aimless. Try Babies R Us. I think ours were £13 for 2 then buy one get one half price. They're really soft too.

Mozzy, happy belated birthday. Hope you had a great day x

Neas. Congratulations. :) hope you're all well.

With regards to eating/drinking things I shouldn't, I've done really well.
Only slipped once. That was when we had a fry up while we were out a couple of weeks back, and my fried egg was still runny, was going to leave it but it looked soooo nice.

That's first thing I'm having when I pop. A big steak with a dippy egg on top lol, and a Jacques Cider. Nom nom.

Really wanting to put Xmas tree up tomorrow but OH says I'm sad. Pity he's at work all day :D xxx
  • Congrats Neas and wife  Hope Jacob is doing well, he is a good size

Do you think i should change my 38 week (38+6!) appointment from the 20th, to the 13th (37+6), which is only a week after my 36 week, and then it gives more time to arrange extra appointments for sweeps etc at the hospital if nothing is occuring, rather than waiting till post EDD?

All my appointments have been +4 as my midwife clinic runs on a Thursday, I don't think it really matters. I would change it though if it bothers you.

Any of them MSM, the only difference is the strength, either 400mg or 500mg. I get mine at my local health food shop as they are cheaper and a higher strength (750mg)

    Congrats to Neas and wife!

Kira, my midwife only has appointments on a Thurs and my day for moving on a week is a Fri so i book all my appointments for a day before the week she said eg. just had an 18 week appointment at 17+6. I personally would think that especially in the later stages its better to have it a day early than 6 days late!

Another one here who was wondering about delain over the weekend, hope all is ok.

I don't feel pregnant! And I know I shouldn't worry yet but now baby has started moving I can't help getting a bit nervous on the days when i don't feel anything! Midwife said that up until about 24 weeks its normal to feel movement some days and not others so I know I should just ignore it as I'm only 18+3 but its easier said than done!!!

Ladies who are looking forward to a nice rare steak - NHS guidelines are that its OK during pregnancy as long as the outside is cooked. It's on their website and also in the big purple pregnancy book that the midwife gives you. And runny eggs are OK as long as they are lion stamped eggs as that means the chickens have been vacinated against salmonella so they are perfectly safe! Made myself hungry now!!

I second babies r us. I brought these:

    http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Nursery/Bedding/Essential-Bedding/PramMoses-Basket-Bedding-Starter-Set-in-White(0079972)

    And

    http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Nursery/Bedding/Essential-Bedding/2-Pack-White-PramMoses-Basket-Fitted-Flannelette-Sheets(0031881)

giving me 4 cot sheets and 2 blankets. I was goiing to get pink but when I got there i didnt like the colour so got white instead - They're decent sized blankets too.

I'm having a bad day. I EXPECTED to get paid from work last week ... didnt happen so figured that it would be in my account today (never ever not been paid by 28th in the 2 years ive been there)

Anyway, checked my bank - DD's have come out - no wages gone in!!!!! Now over drawn by £14 (I know its not much but i simply dont carry cash on me or have any in the house - I need to start getting stashes!!)

My Head Office is in Germany - Rang them - "Oh er . . you should be paid tomorrow"

WELL I BL**DY WELL BETTER BE!!!!!

Really didnt need this the week I start Mat leave!!!!

Midwife is coming later - She's getting a rollocking n all
  • morning all. not much happening for me today i need to go to the council i was sposed to go on friday but didnt feel well so didnt go il have to go at some point today. no news on eyeliner yet?

re foods were not allowed to eat. i wouldnt worry too much to be honest the guidelines change that often that half the time its out of date information we have, for example i had some nuts the other night and then had a little panic, my friend who is also pregnant then told me that as long as there is no family history of allergies its suposed to be allowed tho, pate is still not allowed tho, im afraid at christmas time i will be having pate. runny eggs are not on the naughty list anymore as long as they have the lion mark, thats good then because i didnt even know about that one.

i dont even know how many weeks i am now its either 17 or 18 but my brain isnt working yet, coffee thats what i need right now.
