We have been and ordered the carpet for the nursery today and it gets fitted in 2 weeks timeOoooh the excitement is too much!! :rotfl:
I'm more excited for the carpet than I am that we got our holiday dosh today!
I also went to Boots and got some free swimmers and 2 starter packs with my vouchers. Going to pop in again tomorrow and get some more.
Jenjade, I think generally you use roughly 2 packs of nappies per week, and how long baby will be in first size range will depend on his/her weight when born. I would say roughly 8-10 packs of the first size should be enough, and the pack sizes tend to overlap in terms of weight range. Keep some vouchers so you can go back and get some more 1st size starter packs if need be when baby is here?
I'm starting to worry I haven't got enough packs of nappies
I'm not sure how many first size I've got, maybe 5 or 6 packs, but the second size goes 7-13lb and I've got 6 of those (going to get some more over next few days to make it up to 10 packs). 3rd size is 9-20lb and I've got 20 of those, size 4 is 15-31lb and I've got 4 of those in Huggies, but another 14 in Pampers which go up to 40lb. So in total I've got about 50 packs of nappies stored in my loft. I thought I surely must have enough to cover a full year, but obviously not, as that will only cover approximately half of the nappies we will need :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Best get stockpiling them!! OH will have a fit :rotfl:
Des anyone know how long packets of baby wipes keep for unopened? Any wipes vouchers I might just keep to use next year as I've got tons of packs and I'm worried about them drying out  Plus I'm running out of space to store them and Asda usually have the Huggies on for £1 anyway, and if not Home Bargains do.
I've also got 1 pack of first swimmers, 2 packs of size 2, 2 packs of size 3, and will just keep any other vouchers as they don't expire until Christmas next year.
HaHa you are sounding like me glad i am not the only one stocking up! my mum thinks i have gone crazy but i paid for all DD1's nappies (well got them on offer) and i am taking full advantage of not paying for them! I really want to get them all back out the cupboard and see how many i have of what size but i know it will just make a mess!:rotfl:
As for the wet wipes as long as you keep them somewhere cool and dark thay should last years. :T:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

Couple of stupid questions for those who've had babies relatively recently... firstly, are button front PJs/nighties more of a convenience than an absolute must for the hospital bag (planning to breastfeed), and would 3 sizes bigger than my pre-pregnancy size be ok for post birth, or too big/small? I can't remember how much you shrink straight after!
Just dug through the back of the wardrobe and found a respectable looking pair of PJs I forgot I owned, am wondering if they might save me buying any that I'll never use again!

From the huggies newborn packs- they are £2.50 in Boots or £3 in Asda and have a voucher inside the sleave for £2 off newborn nappies which you can use to buy another pack, £1 off huggies pure wipes currently £1 at asda and boots and £2 off little swimmers. the newborn kit with a towel i currently £2 something at boots and other swimmers are £2.95 on offer in Tesco
the pack also includes a pack of newborn nappies size 1, a pack of pure wipes and a hat;):j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

Congratulations pigpen!!!
When was she actually due - I can't see her on the previous due date list? Just wondered!
Is it wrong I'm thinking of getting a pizza delivered tonight? Feeling sorry for myself stuck on my own again. Sod all on TV so updating my iTunesI know how to live, me! I've only got about three packs of newborn disposable nappies - after that I have bumgenius reuseables if I can work out what goes where!

i dont wear nighties so didnt take any when i had DD1. i wore a loose t shirt in labour and then after i wore pj's with button up tops but only til i came home then i wore normal clothes.
I went back to my pre pregancy size almost straight after having DD1 although i worn maternity trousers for a bit coz they were comfortable:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

I don't really wear either normally, which is how I just found some fairly pristine PJs.
Last time I bought a fairly hideous nightie just to wear in hospital, which never saw the light of day again. I was back in my normal jeans within 3 days before, but cos I'm thinner now, I'm wondering if I might take longer to get back? I'll probably take some dungarees for going home in to solve the size problem.
But don't know whether to go buy some PJs in my old size, or a bigger size, or make do with what I have?
I really fancy one of those birthing wraps that looks like a dress, but just can't afford one!0 -
when i had mine I wore tracksuit bottoms after it, they had the string so i could adjust the size and were comfortable enough downstairs that i didnt need to get changed..altho with the last one, i had to go for some stitches at the hospital (i have home births) and i came home in my pyjamas0
