    Hello ladies :)
Really cant remember who has said what over the last 5 pages i`ve just caught up on!
Muslins....We discovered these with DD3 and wow they r a God send! I`d second what was said about under the head in the crib/moses basket. Also, if u do have a moses basket, dont buy sheets, use a pillow case :) fits perfectly, and if they do ick a lil bit, u can just turn it over and deal with it in the morning ;) obviously if its a full projectile vomit then u`ll have to change it!
The belly line....i didnt get it until DD3, everyone kept telling me its a sign of a boy, well thats a load of rubbish haha! Its not there this time tho (yet!)
I wonder how eyelinerprincess is getting on! Eeek so exciting! Only 14 weeks until my turn :( lol xx
    Mummy to 3 beautiful GIRLS, 9, 7 and 3, :D and a handsome lil BOY 03.03.12 :T

just had dinner and I am officially stuffed, could cook me and serve me up for Christmas Dinner. I now have a mountain of sweets, me and OH are having a movie date night tonight. We have the re-make of Arthur and Alan Carr's new dvd Spexy Beast :D Feel so content tonight, OH has uni and works so much I feel like we never do anything together any more, and we have all of tonight and he's off all day tomorrow! :D:D:D

  • Hi girls - happy Friday!

I'm rather enjoying this maternity leave malarky - though I fear it's going to leave me skint. I'm only on Day 2 and I've been indulging:

    - Eyelash extensions (highly recommend, hoping they'll last for a while so I can look reasonably ok post-birth)
    - Manicure
    - Pedicure
    - 2 x new maternity tops
    - 2 x new maternity PJs
    - 1 x new pair of new shoes

I went out with a list and got NOTHING from it, but I'm pleased with my new bits anyway. So now to catch up...

Re birth plan - I've not written it down, but might give it a bash. Midwife said to include things like whether you want to be left in peace with OH after, whether you want the baby washed down before being handed to you etc. We're planning on a home water birth. I missed delivery of my pool this afternoon, not sure whether to pay the £12 to get it delivered tomorrow or wait in all day Monday for free and hope I don't go in to labour over the weekend!

Re perineal massage - Apparently you can use any oil that you would eat. I've not tried it yet, but now my nails are all trimmed down from my manicure (can't stand them being longer than the tips of my fingers) I might start (eek, at nearly 38 weeks).

Re Missy's tips - FAB thanks hun. Sounds like you're all getting in the swing of it :) How lovely!

Re names - What's wrong with having first name and surname initials the same? I quite like names like that, think it can make baby sound like a superhero!

In other news.... My midwife came to do a home visit this week in prep for my home birth. All went well and she seems fine with it, and in general is VERY pro home birth. Only problem is there is a bumper amount of babies due in this area and a massive shortage of midwives. Locally we have a birthing suite (low-risk) and a labour ward (high risk). My midwife was on duty on Sat night and the hospital had to close between 3pm and 6am Sunday!!! When this happens they start turning people away and referring them to other hospitals... Soon the 2nd and 3rd closest hospitals had closed and they were sending people the 4th one well over an hour away! She said I would've been told to go to the 4th hospital if I'd called in for a home birth because there were no midwives available to come out to me! I've been reading up and this is untrue. I can apparently insist on a home birth and someone will have to come out. It's still a bit daunting and I'm not sure I want to be having this "battle" at such an emotionally sensitive time. We'll just have to see...

Anyway, my little town has Christmas lights being turned on this evening and my mum is singing in her rock choir, so best get off and get sorted for that!

Have a good weekend girls, I'll likely read but not sure how much I'll be around to post!

    BM :) x

Thank you for the link, i obviously wont be having a home birth unless i get to 37 weeks wich is doubtfull but i have shared the link on my facebook because some of my friends have been adimant they are having a home birth and one was told monday there may be no midwife available, i thought they just sent ambulance people if there wasnt one but after reading that i see its not the case
  • Is anyone else considering going to bed yet . . . . . I'm trying to tell myself its too early lol

Just been watching the local News - Katie price was in the area . . . ou should see the state of some of the people who went to see her lol Chavtastic!!

Ok - Bit vain i know - but does anyone know where I can get a gas powered hair straightener from that I can take in to hospital with me (Obv cant take my plug straighteners as they arent PAC tested . . . . ) Needs to be cheap (but work!!)

indegestion is REALLY starting to nark me now!!!!
  • Evening ladies.

Stuffed here too. Had Xmas dinner pizza and then got profiteroles for afters. :D

Birth Plan wise - stay at home as long as possible. There was 5 hours last time between me leaving home and baby being in my arms, that included an hours monitoring and then being induced, so really hoping for something similar this time. Then i was home less than 12 hours later :)

Pain relief - Had gas and air last time, then a shot of diamorphine just before pushing stage. I felt no pain at all after that. No side effects for me or baby either.

Nice to hear from you Missymoo. Glad you're both well.
    Hope Eyeliner is ok too.

    Xxx

The morning after giving birth I got my O/H to bring my GHD's in. Not PAC tested I know but I just plugged them in and used them and nothing was said to me. Will be packing them again this time.

I'm not even sure if they're pregnancy friendly btw :rotfl: but if they gave me relief I wouldn't be bothering. :D
