I have found that i have had sporadic but quite frequent occassions of palpitations and pressure in my chest during my preganancy, mainly from mid 2nd tri all the way now into the 3rd tri. It is apparently very normal in pregnancy all due to changes in blood flow and pressure from the expanding uterus
I've had that too Kira, I can be sitting perfectly still and calm on the sofa and my heart will start pounding and can last for a few minutes. I usually get palpitations if I am anaemic but my bloods have all been fine so I just put it down to increased blood flow.0 -
HI Stephimoon!
Mimi, nice bump!
A good few pages ago, I remember someone saying they hoped baby's movement would slow a little in later weeks, as it would have less room- Can definitely say now that isn't true for me at least!
Hitch does nothing but move, and it isn't cute anymore. Still reassuring, but it's seeing whole legs appear on my skin instead of a foot, and feeling a crash against something inside me.... Plus, Hitch seems way more active now than ever!
WW, Nice's wife gave birth to a baby girl last night at 1900hrs....Don't know any more details, not going to plague him for a few days!

Hi guys, quick question - they say not to buy 2nd hand car seats incase they've been in an accident, is that the same for car seat bases? Seen one on ebay, but not sure whats recommended.:j - DS - 7

Because car seat have polystyrene inside (or something like that) they can be easily damaged in a crash whereas the bases you would hope would stand up better but of course it would depend how bad a crash...

Afternoon All
Mimi & Lirin - love the bump piccies :j
Re the medela pumps got my mini one 2nd hand from a friend, looks like you lot got them new at good prices though.
I ordered the Advent 3 in 1 steriliser under a black friday deal and it has come today already! it looks a good size. Also did the lovefilm 6 months offer on black friday too just in case we never leave the house we have something to watch :rotfl:
Hubby came back from MILs yesterday with his enormous childhood teddybear for bubs complete with repairs to the nose, new paw patches and blue ribbonhow sweet !!!!! It will probably sit in a chair guarding bubs when he comes along.
Been to a local farmshop & gift shop, came back with lush food, a (*VERY*) cute panda glove puppet :rotfl:& Its christmas stories & music cd to play to bubs :rotfl:essential shopping you understand....
Also bought a small wheely suitcase & one of those little bags with mini empty bottles, mirror, flannel & toothbrush for hospital. Going to take the wheely suitcase, changing bag and leave another small bag with extra stuff in car just in case...
My mum kindly got me a decent changing bag its a suzy smith with owl pattern on it (the only decent new thing we have!!)
((Hugs)) to those who are struggling with headaches and other pregancy related annoyances.
Hope eyeliner doing ok
Missymoo - THANK YOU FOR YOU TIPS I HAVE BEEN ABSORBING THEM:rotfl:
Another thing found via google that my hospital has an online tour of womens centre and it give info about what you need to do, bring and what they do when you go etc, might be worth googling your hospital just in case they have something similar it was really useful. Does confirm that partners cannot stay though Booo!! unless you have a private room for £475  the other single rooms start at over a hundred, depending what happens may stump up for own room after birth but annoying that they cannot stay.
I did also have a look at netmums for reviews from mums of their experience of birth at my hospital, obviously people who have no problems may not post their stories so have to take with pinch of salt but might be useful to have a peek..

I could go at anytime......Any flimsy excuse for Christmas!
And the cards are from DH and I to eachother, and DSD to everything- cat, dogs, fish.....0 -
Hey Lirin, that's great news about Nice's wife! Hope all is ok with them both.
I have been dishing out Christmas cards this week as and when I see friends, in case I am too knackered to see them later on. I've wrapped more Christmas pressies, I usually do it with win to ease the pain so I've never realised how time consuming it is  We are hopefully getting our tree next weekend :j
Not much to report from me .... just counting down the days - I'm 6th after the boldies and 11 days to go until eviction day.0 -
Well I've woke up this morning and it looks like my bump has appeared overnight. I just looked fat yesterday!!!
I've got my scan on Tuesday and I'm super excited. Can't wait to put my energy into buying things rather than worrying.
Hope everyone else is ok

35 weeks today.Feeling like utter crap today.Been having more bleeding on n off and the contractions really been harsh for the past few days but cervix still not dilating despite the contractions showing majorly on the monitors at hosp so nothing to do except keep taking the co-codamols.If this bleeding gets heavier then they'll just deliver me now and tbh after 10+ weeks of pains every few mins I'm more than ready
Cot is coming on monday, moses basket and stand all delivered and ready.1st size clothes, bedding, grobags and muslins all washed, ironed and folded in drawers, nappies, wipes, bags all stacked on top of wardrobe.Kids presents pretty much bought, waitrose delivery booked and christmas cards written! How organised am I? :rotfl: Just need tescos to release their slots now!Hubby bought the lights to put round the very top of our house just now and lovely dad is coming with his loooong ladders to put them up 2mro.Kids teachers presents bought, christmas concert tickets bought.Umm what have I missed?Nothing I hope!
Next scan on thurs and if baby hasn't popped out by then and placenta still blocking the exit I'll be given a date for a section.
How's everyone else this weekend?V jealous of those ooop north who have snow!!!Slightly mad mummy to four kidlets aged 4 months,6,7 and 8:D:D xx
