Can I just ask if you are planning on breastfeeding are you buying a steriliser and bottles as well? I spoke to my Mum who has always breastfed and she said there was no point in the early days as using bottles can confuse a baby that is being breastfed!
I've got bottles, pump, steriliser, freezer bags and dummies, just in case. I can always sell anything I don't use. But I think you are in a completely different situation with your baby coming so early.MoneySavingMamma wrote: »Hi ladies, just back from midwife, I'm 2/5ths engaged, is that good for 35w?

Bad results from wee, keytones (sp?), leucs? & I look anemic. So told off for not eating properly & my sudden faintness that keeps happening is due to low blood sugar, ooops!
She's told me to get a flu jab, not sure if I want to inject stuff into body right now, you never know the outcome. I get Thalidomide nightmares about everything!
Am I the only crazy one not doing it?
I chose not to have the flu jab and I am 38 weeks on Wednesday. I didnt want to risk getting getting side effects after the jab, I am normally healthy and the main reason being I didnt feel comfortable having it as didnt want baby to be affected. There is no right or wrong answer in my opinion on whether or not to have the jab, you just need to do what you are happy with.
Congratulations to all the new arrivals. Eight days of work left which is a bit scary..!0 -
oh i have not had the flu jab as i have never had it before and i am now on mat leave so i dont come into contact with many people so think i am low risk:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart

I got the flu jab, purely because OH's family both work in medical and education professions and are in contact with hundreds of children daily, so thought if I ended up with the flu (which I've had once before, if you've never had it, you can truly not imagine how awful it makes you feel) and couldn't take medication I honestly think I'd commit suicide. The one and only time I had the flu, I was hallucinating and could see people in my room and was so scared I was telling my mum I wanted to jump out the window.
The thought of that alone, made me get the jab.The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0
