Thanks so much for replying, my MIL is a diamond, we get on so well and I really love her to bits (apart from her telling me I smell like I have a UTI today, she's a nurse but !!!!!!? Do I smell of pee? :( ) but we just have very different opinions on how much you should spend on things. Apparently I've not to buy anything as people will buy us things, but A - I want to choose things and B - I don't want to wait until I've had the baby until we start receiving things, I want to be organised. Normally OH is there and will tell her to shut up when she's being over bearing, but he was working today so was just me, her and OH's sister, who was sticking up for me and saying it's Gilly & _____'s first baby, so obviously they wanna get what they want etc, but it was all a "waste of money" and how we need to watch what we're spending etc. ALSO IT'S US WHO ARE BUYING IT, NOT THEM. I've felt teary today so not sure if I'm taking it all to heart and being stupid. Was upset aswell when she said me and OH are in no rush to get married as you have to make sure it's right?!? I know she didn't mean it in a horrid way but still got to me.

Also I'm now paranoid I have a UTI and reading up it can cause premature birth and low birth weight. I only got my urine tested this week, so should I be worried? :o do they test for that or is it just glucose and protein they check for?

Lisa, we liked that cot too, was on our short list :)

We decided on the Sola cos the ratings and reviews for it from Which were so good- the second best buy. Very very happy with it, it is adaptable, and fits in the boot of my fiesta. I got the pram carry cot to go with it, along with Maxi cosi cabrio fix car seat which you can use with the Sola if you get adaptors.
My PIL wanted to buy us the Icandy. It looks lovely, but in terms of the reviews and reliability, it didnt come close to the Sola.

I happened to say I was tired and felt crap today (OH barely slept a wink last night due to indigestion and I was up all night peeing, so between us lucky if we got 5 hours) so possibly why I felt rubbish. Then she said about the smelling. !!!!!!, unless she is going to the toilet after me and trying to smell my urine (which I'd bloody hope not) then I don't get what she means :o I asked OH if I smelt of pee and he said no :rotfl: so I don't get it at all. :o

Gilly sorry but :rotfl: at the thought of your MIL stalking you to the loo!! I know you can smell certain conditions like diabetes etc through the sweat but never ever heard of being able to smell a UTI.Unless you've been drinking cranberry juice and she could smell that so decided to try to look clever? :p

You arent being stupid- she is being insensitive. But feeling teary and hormonal makes all of us less able to ignore people who are saying things we might otherwise be able to put up with.

In terms of a UTI- they do test for all three things, so chances are, if you didnt have one at your last appointment, you dont have one now!

Thanks for the reassurance, I have my 28/30 week bloods/urine/blood pressure etc this week, so will voice my concerns there and see what they say. I did go to the nurse about it, as I felt I was going to the toilet far too often, but she said everything was clear and I was just unlucky with the way baby was laying. So I'm not sure if that is making me extra paranoid.

Bump no cranberry here, that's what I like to drink with vodka, I think I'd be teasing myself if I had it on it's own atm :p
