Morning all. Ouch I hurt!! My hips and back have been a bit achey for the last few weeks but since Friday its been much worse. last night in bed my lower back was killing me and I couldn't get comfy at all, I think its probably more my pelvis than my back as it hurts when I move my hips at all. i ended up getting up and microwaving one of those wheat bag things that to hold against it. Luckily that did help a bit and I got to sleep about 2am but its still quite achey this morning.

I won a really cute humphrey's corner dressing gown for baby ofr 99p on ebay last night. Probably not really something you need but its sooooo cute and for 99p I couldn't resist!!

....... sorry u are so uncomfortable might be worth trying the pillow between legs at night xx

Morning :) feel so much better today, had a 13 hour sleep and was only disturbed 3 times for the toilet. Not so teary and emotional so I think I must have been shattered yesterday.

Still heard nothing about my Maternity Allowance and it's due in on Wednesday  spoke to my mum about it though (she works for the useless bums) and she said that's normal. It may be, but it's stressing me out.

  • How many don't use a baby monitor?

I am perceived as strange because I never bothered getting one for any of my kids, OH's mates gf keeps trying to flog me a all singing monitor with temp sensors, breathing monitor and i think it might have a tea'smaid built in (wishful thinking)

I just dont get all the hype about putting so much faith in to a gadget that takes away the need to actually get off your bum and go check on the child, isnt it a primary urge to go and check in on sleeping kids x amount of times a night than watch some coloured LED'S rise and fall with every little sneeze, yawn and gurgle or start flashing when somethings up?

I could see how these things create a false sense of security for parents.

    Anyway rant over.

We're not bothering with one either Raven Lady I think a lot of people use them if they have a biggish house, it means they can hear baby stirring before it turns into almighty screaming.

Jen, my bump goes hard/soft depending on where Hitch is. The bottom is all soft, not exactly appealing with the stretch marks... On Ebay now ordering some oils, hopefully will help.

Mine too :( A squidgy bit at the bottom and a road map painted all over it :(

Oooh, I do have a question tho', and i know its probably peculiar to me, choosing an out of area hospital and having my GP at home so they arent linked. Basically, when ihad my last consultant visit, he said no more appointments here with the consultant clinic, and i said, what about the remaining antental m/w appointments listed in the my notes, do i need to book any here? He said no, all community m/w at your GP.
Thats fine, but what if nothing is happening, and i am approaching or at/over EDD. Will my local m/w suggest an induction, and call my hospital to discuss/arrange (in the other area), or tell me to call them? Or will i be sent for an appointmentover at the hospital to discuss?

My hospital is in a different locality to my MW and GP too. If you go over your due date your community MW should do your sweeps, if they don't work she will contact the hospital to get you a date to be induced.

    Jen, here goes.....

    Photo0515.jpg

While they may look bad now- and I am self-conscious of them- they are nowhere near as angry as they were a couple of weeks ago. If yours aren't as bad, hopefully this will make you feel a little better! If they are, they do fade in time. Mine are probably bad enough in any case. I had nothing until I was 32ish weeks.... I have oils ordered to try and fade them after the birth. Had been using bio-oil and moisturiser religiously, which seemed to have no real effect.
Had nothing until Hitch really decided to use me as a personal gym, then could feel the skin going.

Raven- I never bothered with a baby monitor yet.... Don't know if we will get one. They seem very over-fidgetdy for basically, as you've said, a lazy solution to getting up. Plus, I know DH and I would end up pretending to be Darth Vader to eachother on it!
