Cloudberry. I used a Mama tens elite machine with DD and I would recommend it. Last time I bought mine, but it got lost in the house move.

I'm planning on renting one from Tesco this time as ive heard they are really good. They cost £27.50 for 6 weeks hire with club card points too.

Home finally and took my pirate outfit off. Thank god. Think DH took a liking to my pigtails though :rotfl: X
  • I found the Elle Tens machine to hire for £21.99 delivered for 7 weeks and free return delivery so happy with that :-)

Is there much difference between a normal tens and a maternity one?

  • Toniq re the puds and diabeties, i find being a total chocoholic, that less of what i consider the good stuff (green & blacks, godiva, thorntons etc) hits the spot rather than a whole bar of dairy milk/galaxy etc and still keeps my numbers within the limits set. i still have puddings occasionaly as nothing beats caramel shortcake, profiteroles, chocolate gu, chocolate fudge cake, and pancakes with syrup :D, but have been advised to follow a low GI diet which for the most part i do.

im on day 3 of being an insomniac so going to go and do some ironing!!!!!!!!! have washed all the baby bedding and clothes, but havent packed my hospital bag yet! have made a list of what needs to be taken but havent got round to doing it as it makes it seem more real.

got a breastfeeding workshop today at the hospital so that should hopefully be informative and useful.
  • Thanks Gilly for updating the list, I'm now 8th after the boldies :D

Just seem to be a wafer away from tearful most of the time atm, wierd feeling!
I'm not expecting or wanting presents from work, but some acknowledgement that i'm off for 6 months would be nice! I can but dream. :)

I'm not surprised you're tearful Kira, you're under a lot of stress atm and have all your hormones to deal with too!

TBH I didn't expect anything from work as we are all up for redundancy and Christmas is not far off so it was a lovely surprise! :D

I love the idea of a 0-1 year thread, strangely enough I was thinking something similar in bed last night, like why isn't there a thread for newborns etc, but I wouldn't have a clue how to set one up. Do you just start a new thread?

My consultant said you can use either, but the maternity ones have 4 pads and boost buttons for when you are at the height of a contraction. The regular tens have 2 pads and generally don't have a boost.

I've been awake since 3am, but it doesn't feel so bad when I know I can sleep whenever I need to now. I did go to bed at about 8.30 last night though.

I've got a really hot and itchy bump, it's been bothering me since last night and there seems to be a strip across, just above my belly button that is the worst. I can't stop scratching it! Has anyone else had this? I've not used any new products so it can't be that. I've put cream on and it isn't making any difference :(

Been up most of the night with my bladder again, always a pleasure. It annoys me so much that I can't do anything about it :( off out with MIL and OH's sister today to look at cotbeds. May treat myself to a starbucks for the train journey :)

Like the idea of a 0-1 thread- all I know about children could probably be written on the head of a pin! I've been going on the theory so far that as long as I can keep child healthy, fed and with somewhere to sleep, I'm probably doing alright..... :)

I'm sleeping in my bed again. :) That's more to do with the fact I'm so completely sick of the sofa, and if I can't sleep, I may as well not sleep in my bed. (There is a logic).

SPD's getting bad enough- DH was thrilled to be woken at 0300, 0330, 0400 and 0430 as I needed the toilet and couldn't move without his help. He didn't complain at all- too much sense maybe! :)

WW, I get the hot and itchy bump thing, it's skin stretching a bit. Lots of moisturiser cream and resisting the urge to scratch.... Someone on here a while ago told me to put moisturiser in the fridge, which seems to work....

Is anyone else getting headaches? I'm nearly constantly suffering from headaches, and seem to be sensitive to loud noises.... keep asking everyone to pipe down, lol.

My boobs are itchy, constantly, they have claws marks all over now and are always red and rashy because I won't stop scratching. They're not stretching either, it's only my back size getting bigger.

My head was thumping last night Lirin, actually resorted to taking 2 paracetemol for it, which I've really avoided during pregnancy.

Not looking forward to this train journey today, every time I get on a train I feel sick and nauseous :(

  • Sat in the bath this morning and littlest DD walks in and goes.."what's that??".Looked down to see my milk has arrived early :o After DS walking in part way through my fumbling attempts at defuzzing the other night I think it may be time to start locking the bathroom door :rotfl:

Sorry to hear some of you not sleeping too good :(

For anyone suffering with the itchies, i really really REALLY cant recommend enough trying to get hold of some aqueous cream with menthol. My all over itching was driving me absolutely CRAZY to the point of leaving scratches all over me. I had tried DH's aqueous cream which helpd for a shirt while, but the one with menthol that the registrar prescribed me, killed the itching dead!!! Amazing stuff. My local sainsburys pharmacy didnt stock it when i asked, but i didint ask at my Boots, so not sure if its something you can get everywhere, or has to be prescribed..
    Well worth a shot..
