Jen, pleased all is ok with bubs

My last day was fab :D I went out for lunch with 18 people and had a lovely time. I got flowers, a nappy cake made by my friend and £70 Next vouchers, lots of cards and hugs and best wishes. I was very emotional but managed not to cry. I'm relieved to finish though as I am a zombie by the time I get home from work. I'll try and post a pic of my nappy cake.

Awww. that sounds lovely. Am jealous. I KNOW my lot at work (there are maybe 15 in my immediate team, 50 in the wider team, and over 100 on our department floorplate!) are going to do sweet FA when i go I have till the 28th Nov, and nothing is planned. I have tried to set up an early xmas lunch/goodbye with just our small team of 5, but even one of them cant be ar*ed to make time for it. hey ho. When i got married and went off for nearly 2 months, I got a card and a (badly)photocopied article about how to be a 50's wife. Lucky me. So anticipating just packing up my stuff on my last day in, and walking out with a few "byes". Depressing, given i've been in this job since 2008, working with some of them since 2001, and at the company since 1998!
    WAAHHHHHHHHH

Sorry over emotional today and taking everything far too personally. Must be linked to mums guilt trip yesterday right before i had to go into a meeting, and she said that she could well not come round from her op (which is next Weds), and will die and noone in the family (family being me, her brother recovering from a recent bowel cancer op and my sister in a new job also living in London) who cares enough to be at the hospital when she comes round 4 hours away from me..
This level of guilt i needed like a hole in the head..

Toniq - agree that is quite pants, I hope that they do give you some good suggestions of things that you can enjoy. this recipe looks nice if you like cooking http://diabetic-dessert-recipes.com/diabetic-dessert-recipes-chocolate-meringues-and-berries/

    Kira - (((Hugs)))

Hubby watching children in need, I am on the laptop, hubby quite often complains that I talk too much sometimes when he comes home :rotfl:nintendo ds playing waits until he gets into bed when he might multitask and watch tv at the same time FGS! Then he wonders why it might take him a while to get to sleep!

No, I just mute it when those come up, my hormones can't take it.

    WW, that's a lovely cake!

Gilly, we do the same. One of us on the laptop, one on the pc, and both playing games.....

Kira, When I was leaving work, i didn't anticipate getting anything, as Nice was off with his wife in hospital (still no baby!). Nasty isn't inclined towards acknowledging me at the best of times, and the guys I was on with the final day wouldn't really bother themselves to say goodbye.... Was nice when Nice came in as his wifehad been released from hosp, with a card and £45 voucher for Mothercare. He'd even managed to get most of the guys to sign it! (I couldn't when I organised a present for him and his wife!). If they do, they do, it's nice to be acknowledged. If they don't, sure it'll be a letdown, but you've more important things to look forward to. Your mum sounds like she's maybe worried about being lonely, and she's taking it out on you, as you're maybe the easiest to vent to? You can't do a lot for her.... she will have to accept it at some point....
