I'm thinking of getting one of these...

I fell asleep last night with OH's pillow wedged under my bump and it was sooo comfortable... I should have just gone and got a pillow off the spare bed but they're feather pillows in there and I don't like the smell of them so I just used his... Luckily (?) I then woke up when he came to bed and gave it back, otherwise he would have wondered where it was!

So anyway... I have been thinking of getting one of the long pillows, rather than a dream genii one and you can still use it for breastfeeding after I think.

That looks exactly what I'm looking for, perfect. Thanks :D Will get that ordered ASAP I think. Don't want to leg it down to Mothercare to find they don't have them in store.

    Hi Ladies,

Hope all are OK? I bought a Dream Genii pillow from Mothercare a few weeks ago and its fab! When I bought mine it was on offer for £30.00 so a bargain and my Mum made a case for it. It says on the instructions that you can use if for breastfeeding. I did look at the other Mothercare option, but it didn't have the back support part which I felt like I really needed. I couldn't sleep without mine now! Plus is says that it can encourage baby into a good position for birth and make labour quicker (not that I need to worry about that now!)

My midwife has just called to see how I am - bless her! She said she is on the delivery suite and saw my notes and hoped I was doing ok. See even said I could go and see her before the section if I have any worries!

  • My father really has no sense of time. Called him to ask to take me to MW app at 3.15. He's coming at 2, and it's a 20 min max journey (well say 30 after he gets lost on the way to mine).

Sounds like my Dad :D every year we went on holiday, we'd be at the airport 2 hours before check in even opened. Just incase there was a puncture, or traffic, or we forgot the passports.

jannine - I hope you're feeling better about it all today. I can imagine a little panic must have set in, but I have to agree with the others, that at least your doctors are prepared for the early birth and wouldnn't recommend delivery if it wasn't the best option. I'm sure that your little baby will be 100% perfect.

jenjade - I would agree in declining the GTT - really, what is the point? :rotfl:

mozzy - I'm also looking forward to being able to roll over in bed without feeling like I'm moving an entire ship, lol. It's strange how much some of the smallest things can be such a chore.

eyeliner - really hope today's the day things start moving along for you (((hugs)))

I know you've all forgotten about Greggs already, lol, but as I didn't read up last night, I have to bring it back up :p I have a Greggs 5 mins from work and might need to go for an iced bun this afternoon. I'm also a fan of their sausage rolls. When I popped in a few weeks ago for a sandwich, I asked them to check the mayo, but the big tub it comes in doesn't say if it's pastuerised, so I went with something without mayo to be safe. Not sure if anyone knows one way or another if the mayo is ok?? :)

Midwife told me most "chains" are fine to eat mayo from, it's just independent shops you have to worry about. Said places like Mcdonalds, O'Briens etc would all be okay.

No such luck Gilly the midwife asked me to fast from midnight which rattles my cage as last time i was told to fast from 8pm!!!
I'm sure they just make it up. My hospital says from 10pm and sent my friend away telling her she would have to do the whole fasting thing again for another day because she'd had gaviscon at 10.30 but there was more than half an hour's difference between the time of the fasting blood test the two times I had it anyway.

  • Think it's more homemade mayo that can be the problem, rather than jars and food places.

Gilly we might not be date buddies anymore, Just had consultants appt, My gtt is high, They have packed me home with an accu check blood monitor and have referred me over to the diabetic clinic to take over my care, my appt with them is Monday, I'm also very anaemic, dreaded iron tablets. Consutant is certain they will induce me at 37/38 weeks as the later they let me go the more problems they could run into.

Quite disturbed by it all but they are taking it all very serious so I have faith in them, it will mean more appts and faffing though xxx hope everyone is ok, jannine hope u r feeling a bit better today with it all xxx
