Have you been to NY before? If not, then bear in mind, It is a HUGE place, easy to underestimate how long it takes to get from place to place! The 3 times when i've been i've found it tiring enough even without being PG!

I think it really depends on what you wanted to do there, and how you want to get around, and how your energy levels are. If you are knackered being at home doing normal stuff, then NY might be a bit much to manage esp with the jet lag. If you are still full of beans, and managing fine at home, then you might be fine, esp if you pace yourselves and take taxis instead of walking..

Yes been twice before. The walking, using the subway etc with all the stairs,is one thing that puts me off, plus the flight.
I'm tired just doing stuff at home, tho another part of me is thinking I want to go and buy lots of baby stuff there LOL. Oh I dont know.....

  • Thanks all. I'm ok, just feel a bit overwhelmed by everything right now. From the moment we found out about being pregnant, everything has been chaos - I turned down a dream job, we decided to moe back from Oz, we sorted out moving back from Oz, had 9 weeks flitting about before we got our own place, now we've got our own place turning it into a home is bloody hardwork and there's boxes and crap everywhere, and my horrid boss has made work as awkward as she can for me. I just want space in my head to focus on our sweet baby, look after myself properly and get mentally ready and feel that there is so much to do before I can get to that point. We are nearly there, but it feels like it's been 8 months of planning/sorting/organising and quite frankly I'm well over it.

Then there's the small thing of a wedding on 1 Sept next year...........

    Handyman is here now.

We're going out for a meal tonight for my stepdad's birthday, think I'm going to allow myself a beer. Sod it.

I am excited about having our baby, but sometimes the reality of it hits home and I realise it's not going to be quite as romantic as we've been imagining.

Sorry girls, was actually ok until I posted on here - guess sometimes it creeps up a bit eh?

  • Hello sorry for not having time to read posts. What size hospital bag do you ladies plan on taking with you. I know I'm in for at least 4 days so need a reasonable amount of baby grows etc but I had hoped to take a cabin size suitcase (so rather small) but No way will it all fit. I've gone through the MSE list and I haven't added anything. I haven't even included things for the extra days stay. I've bought mini shampoo etc so no idea where I've gone wrong but my next size up suitcase seems massive.

    Any ideas please?
  • Handyman been and gone, so normal kitchen service has resumed :) Feeling better already.

Is anyone else finding themselves wearing shoes all day long just because it's such a faff putting them on and taking them off? Oh and I'm pretty much now only wearing bras if I'm going out or someone is coming round! So glam :P

 jen just showed my other half, he said it looks like she's trying to break out :p

Just shoved a home made lasagne in the oven, not sure I can wait half an hour, may have eaten a whole pack of Cadbury fingers by the time it's out :o
