Ok panic mode again! (If I don't breastfeed!)
You're not supposed to make up formula before you need it (current recommendations) - so what are the bottle warmers for in the tommee tippee box for? How do you make up a bottle when out & about or at night - do you have a travel kettle upstairs or do you have to traipse downstairs several times a night. How do you use those strange little powder containers in the tommee tippee box too? They look weird & can't work out why they are so strange & not just mini tupperware thingys.
How many changes of clothes/nightwear are you taking to the hospital? I don't know if I need a nightie/t-shirt for when I get there, then change into my tankini (top only?) if a birthing pool is free or straight into the tankini from my 'normal' clothes when I arrive? Then after I get out of the pool do I need another nightie - or maybe the same one if I wore it earlier? I also have pj's if I have to stay in (I'd want to be covered up if I'm in a ward with other mothers) but not sure if they'll fit/be suitable if it's really hot in there? I just don't feel prepared!
And breathe...

Fell asleep, again
it's getting to me, I feel like I'm spending most of my life asleep. Although in a few months I'll regret saying that. Just annoying when you realise hours have passed!
The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
I know this isn't the place for it, but it makes me so mad - just seen on My Supermarket (shopping at Asda)
50p or any 2 FOR £1.50

And reeeeeelax!! Had a shower and am feeling more human now lol!! Sorry about the rant earlier! S_C this is what I used to do with DS2's feeds. I made up 2 or 3 bottles with just the water in but put 1oz less in. Then when the feed was due I boiled the kettle and put the last ounce in of boiling water so it made the water warm and therefore warm for the feed. Then I put the formula in. During the night, we did exactly the same - had a travel kettle upstairs. Out and about, we had the hot water in a flask and used the little powder dispenser.
With regard to clothes, it won't hurt to put in 2 nighties or 1 nightie and a t-shirt along with your tankini. I had 2 August babies and I don't remember the wards being boiling hot at all so think your PJs will be fine. I've made the mistake of buying light coloured PJs which aren't going to be ideal to begin with so I'm going to put a nightie in tooThank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -
Skint, I've got 2 nighties for hospital, and they will just have to be enough as I am not buying more of something I am unlikely to need again.
I'm sorry to read about all the carp OHsI'm very lucky with mine, he is fab and even brought me flowers on Saturday
Blue, glad to hear you are feeling better! And that you've got your hols and maternity leave sorted. What will happen to your hold if you go into labour early as that will trigger your maternity leave earlier?missymoo81 wrote: »Gilly I am exactly the same as you, my family only live half an hour away but with both OHs and my family being divorced and remarried, the baby will have 4 sets of grand parents, most of which cant be in the same room together:eek: So am actually going to have to time table visiting times! And I always like to look half decent, (I know i'll have better things to worry about) but my mums the sort that would take great pleasure in seeing me looking unkempt and would assume and announce to the world that im not coping!!
That sounds like fun for you Missy :eek:Mimi_Arc_en_ciel wrote: »Oh my gosh - I swear I just nearly just dropped flump out of my womb in the bathroom! I had put DD to bed, was in the bathroom and a fricking MOUSE came running in. I screamed, shouted the dog, who didnt find it and am now worrying lol
/QUOTE]
I nearly died of fright last night - a HUGE spider crawled out from under our bed and scuttled across the floor. Not for long though as I whacked it with a book and flushed it down the loo. I was scared to go to sleep all night though in case it's bigger brothers came and got me in the night :eek:Winnie_in_Pooh wrote: »Lirin - sleep is an elusive mistress isn't she! I don't know if it would help you, but I got a single duvet, folded it in half and put it underneath the sheet on my side of the bed (IYSWIM?) - the extra padding seems to make the bed a less uncomfortable place to be - just wondering if that's something you could try? It seems to sort of spread the pressure if that makes sense?
My physio recommended this to me and it does help. Doesn't cure it, but it makes a difference.
I've not got anything to report, been to work and just plodded on. I've got my flu jab tomorrow. Is anyone else having it? We don't usually get it after OH had a bad reaction about 6 years ago, we get offered it through work, but I read an article last week about a pregnant woman who got swine flu and lost her baby, then her 4 year old daughter got swine flu and diedSo the upshot is both OH and I are getting the jab this year.

I can usually live with spiders, but one has moved into my room, I've found it once under my duvet, once running across my sheet, and twice on the side next to my pillow just as I was going to sleep. I can't catch it, and it makes it really hard to relax! I finally dropped off last night, and woke up after an hour and a half with terrible heartburn and couldn't get back to sleep.0

I am literally scared to death of spiders! I call them 8 legged beasties! I don't mind the house spiders we get with the little bodies and the long legs, its the big black ones I can't abide!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0

Ooh, just ordered a couple of things online from La Redoute.
Been looking for a suitable maternity/nursing nightie for labour- no long sleeves (too hot), and something that i can do first contact/feed in (so no fixed neckline as am so NOT hoiking it up round my neck!). Finally found the perfect one, shoestring, unclips for nursing, and big enough, plus comes with a little wrap top to go over it. £19 usually, but i had a code for 50% off, so happy to pay £9.50 given i've been looking for MONTHS!

They also have reduced their disposible maternity knickers 10 pack from £9.00 to £6.30, and they do some larger sizes that i've not found elsewhere- up to uk24/26 i think it went.
