So many posts since I last looked! Love reading through though, hope everyone is doing ok.
Been to boots today and bought lots of bits and pieces to go into my hospital bag.
Also went to Matalan to get a spare night dress to take in with me just in case.
Got just over 13 weeks to go but I like to feel organised!
Also went to have my hips put back into line today. About an hour later im already getting pain again. Seems like another £30 wasted as nothing I do seems to keep me in line. Think I would rather just be in pain from now on rather than skint and in pain!:T baby boy born 01/01/2012 my New Years Day Boy

Hope everything is ok Kandboys are you going in?
Skint - my Mum mentioned something about bubs going quiet before birth at the weekend. I hope she's wrong because my bump has been more wriggly this past week than he has for most of the rest of the pregnancy! Although having said that he's been quieter today....mmm....watch this space I guess!
Lirin - sending you a hug - it sounds like you're really struggling. Have you got any leave you could take to reduce the next 6 weeks? If not have you thought about getting signed off for a week, just to recharge your batteries? Also, can I borrow your DH? I have some wall lights that I loathe but DH won't replace them because of the wiring! Mine comes with free donuts...:D
Cloudberry - can they give you any advice about making the realignment last longer?
Since DH brought donuts and I burst into tears, I haven't managed to stop them! Sobbed all the way to school and all the way back. I'm just so tired and hurting so much. I know the end is in sight and I know the baby will be here by the weekend but if he doesn't arrive soon I'm seriously worried about being able to look after him. Hopefully its just the exhaustion talking.0 -
Hi everyone.
Some of you know me already from the early boards, but I've been lurking here for a week and I thought I'd better make myself known, lol. I'm nearly 23 weeks, baby due on 1st Feb. It's first baby for me and hubby and so far all going well. That's about it for now....
Oh, and you lot sure can yakTook me ages to catch up again

Winnie- Used the last of my leave to book a fortnight before my mat leave starts, and then every Friday off for a month before that (not sure how I got away with that one....). Don't worry about me, I'm just painful a bit today and probably feeling sorry for myself more than anything... As long as I keep standing for a bit then sitting for a bit, I seem alright!
Plus- I think I'm just getting to the weepy stage, which will shock DH as I'm not a teary person usually!
Besides, you've a week to go til your due date, and although that feels like a long time, you make sure you take it easy. Just realised pregnancy's a bummer later on, before SPD's added! You do sound exhausted- this bit isn't the easiest, is it? Eat your doughnuts, put your feet up if you can, and glare at anyone who suggests you move. And if I lived near you, DH would probably happily come and sort out your lights! (I would have done ours, but can't reach up anymore!)
Twigpig- yup, we can yak! It's spawned from a five second walk now taking 20 mins- it's amazing how much more interesting everything becomes when you've far too long to look at it!0 -
Spent most of yesterday wallpapering the nursery with my dad, have to make use of the parents when they are here. OH got some man tools out as well and cut out half of the boxed in bed section that is in the room too so there was some definite progress which I'm glad to see. Just need to tidy up after OH, clear out some more clutter and finish painting, then we can get the carpet sorted and go and buy the furniture.
OH also cooked a roast yesterday for us all, and when I was having a nap in the evening, he washed up too that was meant to be my job so he was definitely in my good books yesterday!
Have spent most of today so far in bed as feeling a bit ropey and dizzy, maybe I did a bit too much yesterday. managed to waddle round Sainsbugs, (picked up a teeny tiny swimming cossie in the sale) but not sure how many more weeks I'll be able to manage on my own, bit of a struggle to push the trolley round now. Intend to spend the rest of the day catching up on 24 and not much else.Little lady arrived 13/12/110 -
Quick question - has anyone bought or used a birthing ball before? I was told this may help strengthen my back muscles and prevent my hips coming out of line so easily. Also can use during labour. Not sure where the best place is to buy one. Will be going to the baby show but really would want to start making the use of one now rather than later. Any advice?:T baby boy born 01/01/2012 my New Years Day Boy

Are birthing balls any different to gym balls? We've got a gym ball and I intend to have a bit of a go on that during the later weeks and labour. If they're the same then you can get them pretty much anywhere (supermarkets, sports shops, Argos etc) and they're not that expensive. Actually we had to find a kiddy sized 45cm one for my son's physio and they were twice as much as the adult ones!Little lady arrived 13/12/110

I have heard this as well, I hope its true because my bump has been a bit quieter over the last two days.
Winnie - try and put your feet up and relax a bit, you dont want to be getting yourself into a state just as baby arrives!! I know what you mean though, it feels so close yet so far away.
How long do they let you go overdue there before they induce you? Its 10 days here and I am convinced it will get to that stage for me
Everyone keeps saying "its only 10 days" but at this stage 10 days is a long time!!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -

Not sure, I have a gym ball that I have been bouncing away on - not entirely sure its doing anything though! :rotfl:Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
I bought a gym ball from Argos for use as a birthing ball & have been using it for about 5 weeks now - it is more comfortable to sit on when SPD is bad plus it's supposed to get baby in the right position for birth by opening your pelvis (and tilting it forward rather than back when you sit on the sofa!). I didn't buy the cheapest (about £5) but a slightly more expensive one as I've heard bad things about damaging spines if they burst! Make sure you get the right size for your height & weight too - your knees should be lower than your pelvis.
My hospital has it's own so I won't need to take mine in when I go.
