I usually have the flu jab because of my asthma. I won't be having it this year though because it always makes me ill and I really don't want a nasty cold and a newborn at the same time!0

I think they would make me VBAC hun which I feel would be dangerous. She said I am fully capable of giving birth naturally and the only reason DS2 was c-section was because he was back to back! What a load of old carp! He had a huge head and weighed nearly 10lb!! DS1 was back to back too and I had to have a ventouse delivery in the end so I don't give birth easily and naturally. They ought to take each case as it comes not lump everyone under the same heading!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -

Sorry Winnie, maybe worded that badly! I haven't had a show, was more just wondering now it's getting closer to the end....
K, I wish there was something I could do to help. It's not nice for you, hopefully consultant will be nicer?0 -

Couldn't agree more about not lumping everyone in. Surely they can't tell how a person is going to react in labour until that person is actually in labour! I mean they spend the whole 9 months of pregnancy telling you how everyone is different and every birth is different etc etc.
It definitely sounds like that registrar hasn't got a clue what she was talking about. If the consultant isn't "available" at your appointment next week, plant yourself in the waiting room and refuse to move until he becomes available or they find you another one!0 -

Thanks hun I appreciate it. I have seen the consultant twice and last time he saw me he said he couldn't refuse me the c-section but that it would be at 41 weeks. So when the registrar started yapping on about VBACs I was just so shocked and furious! I'll see what the consultant has to say next week. I can understand they have guidelines but some people don't conform to the 'norm'Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -

It was all 'well according to the National Statistics blah blah blah'! She spoke so slowly as if she was talking to a child. My DH bless him did speak a lot and said while we understand the guidelines etc etc. I was just getting stroppy! I even said at one point why is nobody listening to what I want and need aaarrgggghhhhh!!!Thank you to everyone for sharing competitions!0 -

The last person who spoke to me like a child was a mechanic who also gave me a note 'for your daddy'. When I asked what the note was, I was told it was a list of things he'd done on the car so my dad could see.
That didn't go well. I had a pleasant half hour going over the list with him, and asking why he'd fitted parts for the wrong engine. I service my own car most of the time, I know what I'm talking about!
Talking to me like a child or telling me I can't do something- pretty much a red rag!0 -
Hello all. Not been posting for a few days and this thread moves so fast. Congrats to all those with new babies and labour vibes to those waiting. Hugs to kandboys as well.
Scary to see how far I've moved up the list already, I'm sure there were only a couple of people below me when I went on! Now there's babies due well into next year and I'm nearly 27 weeks
The last time I was talked to as if a child was by my MP. Apparently he thought I was terribly bored by the conversation he was having with my parents about electoral boundary changes. Ironically, while he is my MP, he isn't theirs, so there's three votes he's never going to get :rotfl::heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls
