  • yeah i really should drive over and get a ticket, i say drive and by that i mean make dh do it
  • Winnie - hope you're doing ok, kind of reassuring that you can almost carry on as normal during your contractions (ie by being on here).

Not sure if I'm just being an old nag, should I support him doing a job he likes and not worry about the money? Or after me being the main breadwinner for all these years is it his time to step up a bit more? Gah. :(

I'm doing fine thanks :) slightly bored now, would love them to either progress or stop - its been 28 hours now... but I'm glad to reassure that its not that bad! I can't talk when they peak, but I can still type :rotfl:

FWIW I don't think you're being a nag. Having a baby (IMO) is very much a joint effort in all respects and I don't think it should just be the mother who has to make the career sacrifices in order to support the family. Obviously, everyones situation is different and I don't mean to sound judgemental, but I don't think you'd be expecting too much by asking him to step up a bit :)

I was told by my midwife that when you can't talk through a contraction is the time to go to hospital!

It's only when they are right at their peak for maybe 5-10 seconds that I can't talk. If it gets to the point I can't talk for the whole thing then I'll be off to the hospital!

I've got to take DS to a dietician appointment there tomorrow morning so I might pop in and get checked while I'm there. I just haven't had any other labour signs except a teeny tiny bit of show on Saturday...and I hate making a fuss...

Thanks Winnie. I think he thinks I'm just thinking about the money. I would hate for him to be miserable if he took other work, but he also doesn't quite seem to understand that if we want to buy a house and get married next year  it will be nigh on impossible on SMP and patchy income... We did manage to save a good chunk whilst in Oz, but that's all needed for a deposit/refurb/buffer/wedding so that will all soon go, and will go even quicker if his income isn't steady.

    Happy contracting :p

RWB - so good to hear from you, was thinking about you the other day and actually had a little search to see if you had been on MSE recently. Glad to hear that you are being well looked after. Try not get too stressed - much easier said than dont I know.
I hope you get your own way with the name choice!

Winnie - send some of your contractions my way please!! Hope things carry on moving for you :)

  • Same here JenJade (but no washing) - I hit 29 weeks on Sunday and I've been feeling shattered ever since, when the rest of my pregnancy I've been ok energy-wise... Going to get in bed to read my Jools Oliver preggo book and swot up on my hynobirthing stuff before session 4 (of 5) tomorrow.

    Night ladies, sleep well x

Can anyone recommend a good (fairly basic & not too long winded) online birth plan template?
    Thanks, C xx
