I have done nothing wrong and i have had enough phoning the doctor tomorrow am to talk to him then will phone her to tell her i am signed off. i am sure she will tell me i have to come to the meeting she has set up for Thursday pm so will need to decided what to do about that. might just contact HR and see what they think and whether i have to go..

Have been into the last school I did placement on this afternoon to help out, and it was lovely to see all the teachers again. One of them is preggers and 4 weeks behind me so we were gassing about babies for most of the time! All of the girls in the class were quite excited to see both our bumps too, and I had about 10 suggestions for names too! It was especially nice as I was only on placement for 6 weeks so nice of them to remember me.Little lady arrived 13/12/110

Afternoon ladies.
Feeling good today, had a lovely meal with OH lady night, and sorted a few things out with each other. Think we both do things that annoy the other at times, and although they're only little things, they build up and we end up getting annoyed. So we've both agreed to talk more and try and stop doing them.
On another note, we've found our name I think. We had a list, and we've been through them all, and one just seems to have stuck.
Heard a couple of more unusual boys names though today while I was looking at DD's class list. There's an Ozzie, a Coby, an LJ and a Barclay.
Barclay suits the little lad too, though it just reminds me of the bank.

If I were you Jenjade, I'd make full notes of all dates, times, letters/requests from the doc, and all of manager's behaviour, go to the meeting, and use it to put in a complaint.
Mothercare are holding some kind of baby event, with talks/advice, midwifes etc. No idea what it will be like, but it says goody bag and refreshments!Lol, how sad is it that, that I think, well it's an evening out?!

Jen, there's a person on the employment section- SarEL- she'd be good to get advice from. Ring your doc today if you can, just tell the situation, and how you feel as well, and try get signed off- your work isn't helping you in the slightest, and it will impact on your health.
Edit- echo Aimless. Detail everything in case you need it for a complaint/ industrial tribunal later..... dates, specifics, times.....0 -
thanks guys
Lirin i dont work tomorrow so i will ring the doctor then they run a strange system where you have to phone after 8am etc:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heartProven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

Mine is exactly the same, and it's annoying! Just tell the doc how stressed you feel going in to deal with it, and how bad everything hurts/ is sore whatever- be honest. If they're halfway decent, all you should have to do is hand in a note basically saying you are now off, I think. Doc's recommendations in pregnancy would be advisable for your work to pay attention to.0 -
Jenjade I echo what the other ladies are saying, this has gone beyond ridiculous now, I haven't a clue what your manager's problem is but it's clear she has one. She cannot legally treat you this way.
Mancbird do you have a birth/gym ball? bouncing on that and leaning over it with your upper body whilst your knees are on the floor is supposed to encourage the baby out of the back to back position. Aside from that I think I've just read about not slouching or leaning back in chairs etc.
40 weeks today and not dilated at all so midwife couldn't do sweep, I am so gutted as I keep reading about all these ladies who have been 2cm since 38 weeks etc! Apparantly something is happening as my cervix is softening and shortening, but it's not much really. So I have another appointment next tues when they'll try another sweep, and book me for induction the following week. Going to console myself with cake now.0 -
Lirin - I'm in a similar position to you, being the first pregnant employee my boss had to deal with! Hope you get things sorted soonOur flump is going to called Finlay
I love the name and like the short version too
you have very good taste winnie, I think you also got the same borders and stickers that we did from b and q didn't you?
lol
Yes we did - I'd forgotten that! Blimey how weird!! Wonder if our boys will arrive on the same day? Now that would be a strange bunch of 3'sI feel so bleurgh today, at a loose end and it's annoying me. Maybe because of my scan tomorrow I don't know though!
Aw Gilly, I know how you feel! I think its because I'm so bored. We have loads that needs doing in the house but I just can't do any of it. Big hugs xxxhey all i have made it through today but today was the final straw before i was more mad then upset or stressed but today said manager decided to complelty blank me all day. even when i spoke to her infront of other members of staff and familes!!! it was the final straw. If you're signed off then she cannot make you attend any meetings. She can request that you attend, but if you refuse she can't do anything about it. Like others have said though, it could be a good opportunity to put in a complaint about how she's treated you... either way, I think you should definitely contact HR - they need to know that she's put you in a position where you've felt no alternative but to get yourself signed off.
Don't forget to get some ranitidine from the doctor for your heartburn too0 -

We're going to the Nottingham one, it's a week on Sunday. Have already told OH that I'm only going to get my boobs measured so I can get some maternity/nursing bras online, and for the goody bag! :rotfl:
To be fair, the stuff that they have got people talking about, like nursery furniture, car seats etc, we've already got sorted but am sure there will at least be some interesting information to absorb. I thought it would be worth a look anyway, considering it's free:j Debt Free 27.07.2011!! :j0
