Yay some pregnant ladies about. Was thinking I was on my own there. Is anyone else exhausted? I feel like I could lay in bed forever at the moment

Morning Ladies
Had 2 lots of 4hour sleep last night which was nice.
Been having strong pains though this morning, and more show from the look of things.
I hate all the uncertainty, not knowing when waters will break is scaring me in case it happens when out somewhere. Like stood in DD's playground lol.
Packed OH off to work so I can sleep in case things kick off later.
Really dont want a Friday 13th baby thoughxxx
Re Pethidine, it's an injection into the thigh/bumcheek. I had it with DD and it was fab.0 -
Redhead - hope things get started for you soon. Xx
I had pethidine with ds2 and I thought it was fab too, I actually managed to sleep through some contractions!! I'm hoping to have it this time too, I just find it stings a little when they first inject it in but I can handle that compared to the contractions!!

Carmilla - I had pethadine with DD1, but didnt have a canula, they injected it into the muscle in my leg. And that hurt....lol
My hosp bag is packed and ready to gojust gotta decided what milk to take and find out if i need to take my own bottles etc!
Feeling like i actually have energy this morning and havent even blacked out or gone dizzy yet! Dinner is in the slow cooker, everything has been washed up and put away, 2nd load of washing is on, school run done, nursery run done, what next...?! lol!
Kira must be busy giving birth or having mummy cuddles by now!

I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was, and was nervous of side effects on me/DD but neither of us had any, so definitely would have it this time.
I'm needle phobic so I just took a big puff of gas and air while they did that (and placenta injection), so didn't feel any stings.
Really wanting to find out how Kira is today. Hope she's having baby cuddles. X0 -
Does pethadine make you feel sick at all? or have any other side effects?I had an epidural with son but was given it too late(anethitist wasnt available til late) so couldn't push very well and ended up having vontouse and forceps. Really dont want this to happen again.:happyloveBaby girl born 27/2/12:happylove

Haha Redhead, i`m so paranoid i`ll starrt labour at the girls school! I dont even do the school runs on my own anymore lol.
I hated the pethadine and refused it with the other 2, it made me sick and like i was on another planet, dont really remember giving birth to DD1. I have flashes of what happened , mainly the bad stuff! xMummy to 3 beautiful GIRLS, 9, 7 and 3,and a handsome lil BOY 03.03.12 :T

Emmylou. At DD's school, they do "stay and learn" so parents spend the first half hour in the classroom with the kids.
I'm convinced I'll go then lol.
Lucy. I think it varies a lot, some people don't get on with it at all, whereas some love it.
I wouldn't choose an epidural though, so pethidine is my weapon of choice.

Emmylou, you can buy milk in the little bottles already sterilised etc, it's not exactly MSE but may be easier than faffing around with milk & bottles.
Do you know for definite your hospital won't supply it?

How old is ur DD Redhead? I take it not all parents actually stay? Maybe stop doing it until the after the baby is here, i`m sure the teacher will understand!
I also have never had, and dont want an epidural unless i NEED a c-section, gas and air doesnt do alot, just makes me high and i cant concentrate on my breathing thru contractions, so only used it for the last 1/2 hour with DD3 as knew from experience i just talk S*** on the stuff haha!
Gilly, i`m an idiot, i looked at them earlier in pregnancy, even posted them on a pregnancy board i was gonna get them....then forgot hahaha!!!! I take it the teats r in them?! I havent ever breastfed b4, more open minded about it this time, but still want to take in milk so theres no pressure on me whilst i`m in there. Figure if i do decided to breastfeed, i can sort it once i`m settled at home. A week after DD3 was born the midwifes told me it still wasnt too late to start. Just dont know how id cope breastfeeding for the 1st time with 3 other children to sort outTempted to do mixed feeding tho if i can.
My hosp will only give u some milk if u basically beg them, and i cant be bothered with arguing for it tbh. Midwife told me they supply bottles, but we have to take in the milk, the small cartons, but i havent a clue what sort of bottles! Also, DD3 was on a hypoallergenic formula, so need to discuss with the dr what to do with this baby yet! xxMummy to 3 beautiful GIRLS, 9, 7 and 3,and a handsome lil BOY 03.03.12 :T
