  • Morning all, wow - some of you were really struggling last night to sleep. Hope you have a better day.

I am petrified of an epidural, gas and air makes me puke - found that out when I broke my leg playing football! But I am sure I will take whatever is offered when the time comes!

Lisa - Gutted about your classes - what a pain, you really would think they would be more considerate with pregnant women. Me and OH are booked on Prep for childbirth from 10 - 2 on Saturday 10th March, and BF one from 9:30 - 12:30 on Sat 17th March if you and OH want to try and join us. As discussed before your OH and my OH can discuss the fainting thing together, although mine still wins with his little episode at the opticians last year!!!!

I hate a whole bag of cheese puffs last night - not a small bag either, but I just wanted them, and so I ate them - so much for not putting too much of this weight back on!!!

I have my 25 week Midwife check this afternoon - quite looking forward to it, and then I have the rest of the day off so nice start to the weekend!

Can't believe how desperate I am to hear from Kira!!! x x x

Gilly, i`m an idiot, i looked at them earlier in pregnancy, even posted them on a pregnancy board i was gonna get them....then forgot hahaha!!!! I take it the teats r in them?! I havent ever breastfed b4, more open minded about it this time, but still want to take in milk so theres no pressure on me whilst i`m in there. Figure if i do decided to breastfeed, i can sort it once i`m settled at home. A week after DD3 was born the midwifes told me it still wasnt too late to start. Just dont know how id cope breastfeeding for the 1st time with 3 other children to sort out :/ Tempted to do mixed feeding tho if i can.
My hosp will only give u some milk if u basically beg them, and i cant be bothered with arguing for it tbh. Midwife told me they supply bottles, but we have to take in the milk, the small cartons, but i havent a clue what sort of bottles! Also, DD3 was on a hypoallergenic formula, so need to discuss with the dr what to do with this baby yet! xx

Yeah the teats come with :D

I'm hoping to breast feed as soon after birth as possible, my friend did and she said it really helped with getting breast feeding started. I don't think a week is too late to start, but I think the longer you leave it, the harder it becomes, obviously I have no experience at all, but from what I've read/been told.

Oh i`m planning on being out within the 6 hours if possible! Obviously depending on what time baby is born of course! I have it all worked out, i need to have him early in the morning, so he can have his checks when the drs come round in the morn, then i can go home lunchtime ;) I spent 4 days in last time, and i didnt sleep at all. Missed my kids like crazy, and really dont want to do that again! Im even happy to come home, and take baby back for checks the next day if needs be! xx

Is anyone getting their partners to bring in food to hospital that they've not been able to have during preg? Already told mine to bringing some sushi and prawn sandwiches lol:T

You can have both sushi and prawns during pregnancy!

We have parent craft classes on the 18th Feb and the breastfeeding one sometime in march.

I agree your DH wins on the fainting, I've never known an opticians appointment be quite that scary lol!!

I've brought soup for my lunch but I really don't fancy it! might have to have a trip out for something more exciting!

Gin, I have been on them for most of my pregnancy and I would say it took a good couple of weeks before I noticed any improvement. Did they say you need to take them with Orange juice as Vit C helps your body absorb the Iron. I still take mine now as I haven't finished the prescription but only every other day or every 3rd day as I found they were slowing my bowels down too much

Thanks for this. Yes, I have been advised to take it with orange juice for extra vit C, but it usually gives me heartburn!!!! So far I didn't have it with orange juice, too scared, especially since you can't have antiacids for 2 hours! I had some dried fruits (apples) to follow iron tablet today.

I am scared of epidural too! (Needle in the spine?). Don't like the idea of gas and air either - my OH is very keen to try it though! I was offered air & gas before when I was having my cyst drained, but I decided to avoid it, so no sure what effect it would have on me. I really don't like any medication, if I can avoid it, but I don't think I will!

I hope Kira will let us know soon how is she doing!

I had forgotten you had booked those already, OH says do you want to meet up for the Mat wing tour on Sun 29th? They are at 11am I think?

I have bought a microwave meal and don't want it - so went over the road for a brekky instead lol x

So my new phone arrived, I tried to restore my contacts from Orange Online servers that I backed up with and all that restored is names, not numbers, totally helpful! At least I have a functioning phone, just can't phone anyone :p :rotfl:

Also Kira, let us know how you're getting on!!!

Super noodles for lunch here - as inspired by someone on here few days back...

I waned to add as well, that sushi and prawns are ok. For sushi - you need to make sure that the fish has been frozen first (somewhere I read), but then most of it in the sushi in shops is.
