An excessive thirst and pull towards sugary foods, though I never gave in to that, are the only real symptons I had sugar on/off in my urine throughout the weeks in pregnancy but never much.

Gilly, I've been comping over 6 years and mainly use comps board, facebook and twitter for comps, mse by far has more comps than anywhere else, If you read the comp guide on the comps board it gives you a fab starting point, def worth the time entering as you can get so many treats and extras, we have won some amazing holidays over the years that really make the effort worthwhile xxx

If u need any help just shout xxx

Edit: Yep! I have a seperate gmail for me and hubby thatI use for comping xxx

Toniq, meant to ask you about comping, do you find all your competitions on the comp board? Also do you have a separate email address for entering? Had a thought I may aswell do something useful while sitting about the house for the next few weeks :o

Annabella that makes my blood boil, I'd make sure you put a complaint in, because when you have baby etc it's not gonna be ideal for you to have to walk up to collect things. I know some people actually have a sign on there door saying "we are in to accept parcels, please knock" More often than not though I think the posties don't even have the package with them. I ended up ordering my GHD's from the official GHD website, to get next day delivery, I read through all the t&C but I'll bet because I'm in N.I I won't get it

See, I think this too... Once, I was stood right by the door when the postman delivered the post, and it included a card. I opened the door and called out to him if he had it but he didn't actually have it on him. I can't remember the excuse he gave as to why he didn't have it but it was a really flimsy excuse! The post office is about two miles from here, so not too far to walk but still, if they actually tried knocking (and had the parcel on them, you know, just in case!) then it would be a big help! Sort of defeats the whole object otherwise...

Just catching up... this isn't true. Hubby works for HMRC and also my friend who just went back in Dec after her maternity leave (it's 6 months paid, same as my private sector company)......

Fair enough! :D Thinking back now, I can't actually remember (that seems to happen a lot lately...) if my HV said six months or a year... It's better than the basic statutory pay I get anyway! :D

Whilst babe is in there, theres no "worry" about who is holding them etc, theres no jealously lol! Bean is all urs atm ;) Dont know what else to say sugar, but hope that helps a lil bit xxxx

Thats one thing that worries me about once baby is here....having to share! At the minute I have him/her all to myself and if people start to take over a bit (MIL especially) I can see myself getting a bit possesive and wanting MY baby back lol!!

All the talk of hair washing, mine is also quite long, it goes a good few inches below my bra strap now. I'm lucky that I can get away with washing it quite infrequently! I'd say I do it maybe 3 times in just over 2 weeks, if I do it more often it starts looking unhealthy. When I was first PG I had to do it much more often but its pretty much back to normal now. i do occasionally use dry shampoo too if it needs a freshen up, sometimes it suddenly goes from fine to ready for a wash over night.

I've been to see the endicrinologist this morning about my underactive thyroid. I was keen to know what my blood test results were as if its not being controlled well enough it can have an effect on how baby grows. With all this small head business I was keen to check it wasn't that contributing! Luckily the test results look good and he's discharged me from his clinic. Which is also good as it means less appointments to go to, I've had so many so far that if my bosses were in the least bit mistrusting they'd deffo think i was taking the mickey!!

I think it was MozzyC worrying about cats jumping in the moses basket with the baby. I believe you can by nets to put over prams to stop cats jumping in (mine has one built in) and I'm sure you could use one of those on a moses basket too. Ooh just had a look and you can, here's a link:

I weighed myself this morning and I've put on a stone and a half since I got my BFP!! Slightly scary but I don't feel as if I've put much on other than my bump so I'm not worrying too much!

Kira - really hope this is the start of something for you. My DH appears to be nesting and has done a ton of housework in the last couple of days but I'm struggling to get off the sofa!

I'm hoping the midwife can give me a sweep tomorrow and that will do the trick because I really don't want to be induced.

Gilly - sorry, I did laugh at that! With any luck they will be good about sorting it out but means more effort on your part when you thought you had it all sorted.

Re catnets - we have a couple and intend to use one when baby is sleeping downstairs as we are also open plan. I still think that the cats will want to stay away from the baby, at least initially and definitely when she is making noise or smells!

Just had one of the cats come up to me squeaking pathetically and jumping into my lap for cuddles. Would have been cute if I hadn't been sat on the toilet at the time!

HA! Sorry, shouldnt laugh but that just really tickled me. Did you def order a kilo? I would call them, and tell them you are very PG and cant get out to buy them yourself, and make them deliver the rest of the carrots to you with no delivery charge.

How lazy am i? I havent been able to batch cook cos i cant stand up long enough to do it, so i did a big sainsburys order, and included some "serves 4" ready meals (lasagna, cottage pie etc), and just spent half an hour dividing them up into 2 people portions to go into the freezer....:o

Managed to get them to deliver some radox with juniper though... might see if DH is feeling strong enough to lever me in and out the bath in a bit!

I have put on just over a stone too, bump is already starting to feel heavy and uncomfortable and I haven't reached the third trimester yet!!!

Good luck with your appointments tomorrow Lisa xx

Thanks for the advice re: ball and travel system. I'll try freecycle for the ball first and see if anyone has one they dont want any more. The one I saw in Tesco was 65cm so would be too big for me then, I'm only 5'1 :o

Am going to look at a Maxi cosi Mura 3 that a friend of a friend has for sale on Saturday, includes carry cot and all accessories and she is looking for £150 so not bad at all, only thing is its blue and we dont know the sex of our babba, is blue ok for a girl? I was just going to get a black one

Laura i got a mamas and papas herbie off of a friend with carrycot and the seat etc, (not car seat tho) for £50. Its a pale blue colour and we didnt know if i was having a boy or girl when we got it. I also had a navy blue stroller with DD1, so blue will be fine i`m sure! And if it is a girl, she`d have a pink blanket or get a liner in pink to "girl it up" a bit! lol x
Good luck with the bath Kira!!
Lisa, it doesnt get any easier the more babies u have either :( I hate it when relatives come in and just pick the baby up, argh, i feel like screaming at them!!! xx
