Some people seem to have a complaint about anything.

Hi all....long time reader, first time poster!
Has anybody discovered whether positive balances will still be permitted and whether these can then be transferred to a current account at no charge?
I sent a message to Egg a few weeks ago asking the question and was told they did not know!
No, the new terns and conditions do not allow a positive balance.0 -

Doesn't mean I have to agree with business runming things for the convenience of themselves rather than the customer.
If others don't agree that's fine.0 -
Thanks for answering that query. Is there anyone that utilised this that's found a good alternative?
There aren't credit cards on the UK market that allow intentional positive balances any more unfortunately.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I'm a bit concerned as I currently have both an Egg card and a Barclaycard. I have a large balance transfer (i.e. at a low interest rate) currently on my Barclaycard that I'm paying off gradually. But I use my Egg card for regular spending, paying it off each month.
They're saying that, at the moment, they will continue to operate them separately, but I'm worried that they will merge in the not too distant future, and at very least I will loose my interest free period on new purchases. I'm also rather worried about them stating that they intend to be review credit limits as well. I currently have a 3k limit on the Barclaycard, and 5.5k on the Egg card, which I wouldn't like to loose as I sometimes rely on them over the winter (I'm self employed, with a seasonal business).0 -
I think the security concerns are valid. I am currently travelling and won't be back at my UK address until next July. I don't like to have a credit card AND pin sitting there in the post for so long. Trying to get egg to help, but no response yet. Plus I thought I'd be able to use my egg card until 2013 and now have no credit card from November unless I can get someone to send one to a non UK address...tricky I would guess.
Also, I personally have a problem with Barclaycard. They previously got my elderly granddad to take out a loan for a CC debt that actually belonged to another customer with a similar name. It was eventually all sorted out but caused a lot of stress (£14k discrepancies don't help pensioners who worry about money). then, after he passed away late last year they started the debt up again and chased my grandma for it. It has been a nightmare.
I would never have chosen them and when i get back from my travels will cancel my cards.
Finally, also note that terms and conditions are fairly buried, much more so than I think would be allowed by companies when selling you a new credit card when they have to be up front with APRs etc...0 -
They've sent a copy of the new terms and conditions out with the replacement card, so how exactly are they trying to bury them?0

many things can happen between now and July next year.
it seems strange that some-one abroad for that period makes no provision for their UK mail to be dealt with0 -
Sorry for the potentially dumb question, but I am told I'm pretty good at them.
Has every/anyone had both cards and both new pins yet?
I have had my BC VISA card and pin to replace my Egg card, but neither my card or pin for my Egg Money Card which is the card I actually use.
i have a BC Gold MasterCard but that is usnused and only from the BC takeover of Sky Card many moons ago.
Also. My Existing Money card expires at the end of this month but even if/when I receive the BC replacement it doesnt activate till the 7th Nov. I assume I will be effectively without use of the card for a week then?
thank you.0
