From Barclaycard - egg info website:

"Has the date of my payment changed?

From now on, you’ll get 56 days’ interest-free credit on new purchases made on your account instead of the usual 45 days."
The Egg Visa was 45 days. Presumably they've replaced it with the most similar type of Barclaycard and the T&C of that card now apply.

The World Mastercard was 50 days, and since they've created a new type of Barclaycard to replace it, it looks like they may have kept it at 50 days.
"It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis

Oh well what do we all expect from a brand who uses this character as their mascot!

That explains it. We have the Egg VISA.

Though the statement date has moved from 3rd to 5th - not 11 days.

Maybe that explains why they are taking £0 this month. :shrugs:

Dec 3rd is a Saturday. Barclays are strictly a 5-day week bank.

Ahh. Smell those Tuareg campfires. Unmistakeable.

The bit where he is bartering for the rug might reflect some of the experiences on here.

Also has anyone who paid in full actually had the correct amount taken and no interest charged? It seems like all the DD's are borked from the reports on here.

Yes mine's ok - paid in full, correct amount taken with no interest

Transition seems to have gone fairly smoothly for me. When I logged in yeseterday I noted a 0% BT offer until 1 May 2012 had appeared with a 2.9% fee - not bad.

I'm waiting to see whether stoozing still works. I read on another board that one poster had no problems having a positive balance transferred to his current a/c when he explained to Barclaycard that he had recently transferred from an Egg card ... not sure why, as this wasn't permitted under the Egg T+Cs for the last few months (even though it was possible) - but sounds like good news! I wonder how long it will last though.

Got offered 0% to may as well, they will need to offer better than that or the card,s a goner.
I have a deep burning indifference

Well done barclaycard you have done over another egg customer

been charged interest for the 1st time ever I paid the full egg balance last week yet they have charged me £6 interest

Also moved my statement and payment date by 2 days

worried any returns or overpayment between now and the direct debit date won't make a difference and they won't take the credits into account

going to look for another credit card then close when I get the cash back
  • Thanks to the poster of way to avoid the rip off 0844 number. I've just tried it and it works a treat, well worth repeating : 0800 9177277

Well, everything seems to be working fine for me now after a few early teething problems.

The only annoyance is that since getting my new Barclaycard I keep getting junk mail to apply for a.... Barclaycard!
