  • I still can't see both of my barclaycards on mybarclaycard, just my old (non egg) one. Can anyone help or shed any light?

You may need to register the new cards, then phone Varclaycard and ask them to merge the accounts.

This works for me but a bit of a pain.

On the mybarclaycard welcomes Egg customers page

Click on the lozenge 'launch your new account'
Enter the new card details and your Mother's maiden name used on Egg
    1. If it then says 'you have already launched your barclaycard account'
Click on the 'forgotten details' link in the orange box with the !
Re-enter the new card number and Passcode from your old non-egg account
You should then be able to see your new account (I can)

If it asks for a set up of of new details at 1 instead, then set them up. I used my old barclaycard one at this point which is why I have to do the above. If you use a completely different set I can't help, but presumably you then have 2 log in sets, one for each card?
  • Transition seems to have gone fairly smoothly for me. When I logged in yeseterday I noted a 0% BT offer until 1 May 2012 had appeared with a 2.9% fee - not bad.

I'm waiting to see whether stoozing still works. I read on another board that one poster had no problems having a positive balance transferred to his current a/c when he explained to Barclaycard that he had recently transferred from an Egg card ... not sure why, as this wasn't permitted under the Egg T+Cs for the last few months (even though it was possible) - but sounds like good news! I wonder how long it will last though.

Could be that your card is a full authorisation only card. If this is true then it will never work at a pay at the pump terminal.

Hi, thanks for this. Do you mean my card specifically, or everybody's Egg replacement Barclaycard? If specifically mine, why would that be? And does this mean it wouldn't work in supermarket self service machines?

The switchover has gone fairly smoothly for me, the only problem I've encountered so far is that my card won't work for paying at the petrol pump, it just comes up with a message saying "kiosk only". This is very irritating (although a minor problem compared to some) and I hope it's not going to be a permanent issue.

Getting the same problems with trying to pay at petrol pump stations. At least they have refunded the extra interest charged on the account.

Don't know if it's everyone or just some people. If it just some I don't know whether it would be based on credit record or what - I doubt Barclaycard credit checked everyone who transferred, but some people weren't accepted by Barclaycard so who knows.

If it is a full authorisation only, then AFAIK, the only places that will have problems are petrol pumps and pay on the train machines on British Rail.

Will have a look at doing that. Thanks a lot!

For those that queried the change or not of payment date.

From Barclaycard - egg info website:

"Has the date of my payment changed?

From now on, you’ll get 56 days’ interest-free credit on new purchases made on your account instead of the usual 45 days. Your statements will continue to be produced on or around the same date each month, but your payment due date and when we collect your Direct Debit will change to approximately 10 days later.

This means if you only pay the minimum payment, your first payment could be higher because of the increased time between your old and new payment due dates. If you’ve got an outstanding balance on your account then the interest you’re charged will also be higher on your first statement for the same reason. Please bear this in mind and ensure you have sufficient funds in place for when the payment is taken from your account."

Registered today. All fine, including DD setup to clear balance infull transferred from Egg, but it says next month's payment amount is £0.
