No email here. Perhaps this means I won't be getting the new card. Hmm.

I have egg visa and havent recieved an email yet, i'd imagine they are just doing it in stages, probably concentrating on egg world first as it has cashback etc. I wonder which card egg visa holders will get, hopefully not some bog standard looking one lol

Received nothing for that card yet but got the egg money email yesterday. I dont really use the old egg card anymore... except when they have the offer of getting £10 bonus for using it!

Same thing here. I didn't want to close it during the transition and risk losing the egg money card as well. I suspect that Barclaycard will issue only one card to those with egg money and egg (visa) card. I hope so anyway, saves having to call them to close it down.

Curious to know your thinking on this. Barclaycard provides both Visa and Mastercard cards so those of us with both Egg Visa and Egg Money should just be given replacements, surely?

I think I had an email reference the standard egg card this morning (already had the egg money one).

Has anyone else had it as I accidentally deletd it as it went into my spam folder?

    Thanks.

  • Yeah got mine this morning- the welcome pack with all the info is here:

  • I have the bog-standard Egg Card & got the email this morning.

Well down the details - no doubt hoping you will get fed up before getting that far - is the following:

We will discontinue the following insurances: purchase protection, internet delivery guarantee and travel accident insurance

I think I may well be cancelling my card. Off now to look for alternatives who will accept someone who's retired...
  • Does anyone know if it'll still retain the other excellent feature of the egg money card that allows you to have a positive balance and therefore allow you to balance transfer to it then withdraw the cash, all without fees?
This was stopped, but the card is still good for putting the card into debt by transferring balances into current accounts, THEN doing the BT.

If this is going to change it may lose its reputation as the perfect "mule" card. Are there any other cards that permit this or do I finally need to cancel my Egg Money?

I know some MBNA cards permit money transfers (BTs into current accounts) but I don't know if the account has to be in debit. Can't see how they can check that?
