Egg to Barclaycard Transition Update

No it didn't. I did a transfer to my bank a/c via Egg Money the other day.
According to terms and conditions it stopped being a facility they offered.
However anecdotally it looks like they did not enforce it.
I would guess they never updated their computer systems.Like Kilocharlie, I'm worried whether this facility will survive.
Now it will be a completely different IT system, I don't think you can rely on the loophole still working.0 -
@Mr Fishbulb
Once you have spent over the 300 minimum per month, that qualifies for reward on the Clarity Reward card, then you should consider spending the rest on the 1% rebate egg money or world mastercard as it will become. If you don't use the new card for six months then it is cancelled. Perhaps this will be applied retrospectively ?

I was using the Clarity and Egg card in this combination (£300 on Clarity then the rest on Egg) until Egg started messing about by morphing in to Barclays.0 -
Barclaycard say they will pay up in March as before so I'll give them a regular splurge plus an extortionate season ticket around Late December.

I don't see why the rules aren't enforceable - if you stop accepting World MasterCards but keep allowing 'normal' MasterCards you could have your ability to take them removed entirely which could be a pain for a retailer.
I meant in the sense from the point of view of competition law. Terms in merchant agreements preventing retailers surcharging for credit cards (except for more than what it costs them) are ineffective.0 -
I wouldn't be to confident about the 1% level staying for long .......I had a Morgan Stanley Cashback card which when morphed into Barclaycard dropped cashback rates to 0.25% up to £200, 0.35% on next £1300 and 1% over £1500 PER MONTH!
(.....mind you the card is not a "world" mastercard and they'll hopefully be able to offer higher rates on the "world"type?)
I never use it any more :T0 -
now that egg became barclaycard, can I apply for barclaycard BT 0% card and transfer balance from other card? The rules are BT between barclaycard are not allowed but other brand will be okay right?0

Has anyone with a Egg Card (as opposed to Egg Money) received an email re: any changes?

Received nothing for that card yet but got the egg money email yesterday. I dont really use the old egg card anymore... except when they have the offer of getting £10 bonus for using it!If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.0 -
