Egg to Barclaycard Transition Update

If the cards are still attached to the letter I would imagine the primary cardholder's card would be on the left, and the additional cardholder's card would be on the right. It's how I've received a pair of cards from Barclaycard before.0

It really shouldnt be this hard
To be honest I think you're making a big deal of it. You can either phone them up or take the cards to a machine, it's not bamboo splinters under the fingernails is it.
I agree we don't live in a perfeect world.
I didn't particualrly like having the cards a month early. I feel it's a security risk as we have to store the PINS until the 7th November.
However I jsut put them on the shelf and got on with life.
If I don't like Barclaycard enough to sacrifice the 1% then I'll simply close the card.
Vote with your feet if you don't like it, but to be honest one phone call it's not the end of the world.0 -
Assuming you both have different pin numbers it may be easiest to find which is which at a cash machine (I think you can cancel and not take any cash). Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

The NatWest one I got for their e-Savings account allows you to change the PIN (well, for their access card anyway).0 -
PINs arrived in separate envelopes. The additional cardholders addressed to "c/o address" the main one "address". We have a real problem.
OH is going to be abroad travelling over the 7th number. So no opportunity to change PIN until return. So will need to store PIN number somewhere and carry both cards. Plus the egg card guaranteeing flights and hotel room will become invalid during time away.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. It's dead easy to store PINs securely in written form.
Just write the letters A-Z in one line on a sheet of paper.
Then choose a four letter word or sequence of letters (like your car number plate)
Then write your pin under the corresponding letters of the word, backwards if you prefer.
Then fill in the remaining 22 spaces with numbers chosen at random, with the same pen, making sure that each number from 0-9 is used at least once in the 26 spaces.
This can safely be stored with the card because without knowing the word or letter sequence, the PIN is completely hidden.

Is there any thing I can do to rectify a difficult situation.
For probably 10 years I have had an Egg Credit Card with a £15,000 credit limit, I have always made at least the minimum payment and very often brought it back down to nothing. As self employed it is incredibly useful for my work and keeping things ticking over while waiting for payments and expenses to come through. With out any prior warning Barclaycard have told me that they will not be issuing me with one of their cards when they take over on November 7th. Not only that even though my Egg Card was due to run until October 2013, Barclaycard will close it on November 7th.
This is not the first time Barclaycard have behaved this way with me, when they took over the Sky Credit Card business a couple of years ago, they did exactly the same thing, even though with both Egg and Sky I have and had been an exemplary customer. Is there any thing I can do about this or is it just another case of Bankers riding roughshod over decent people?0 -

Nothing you can do if they do not want to do business with you that is their prerogative.
I was surprised that Barclays gave me a card they have always turned me down when I have applied directly.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0
