A lot of people like to change their PIN to something more personal to make it easier to remember

How about: We are sorry we were unable to transfer your Egg PIN to your Barclaycard and retain the superior online PIN management. We also apologise for the inconvenience caused during this transition.

Quite, I am going to miss Egg, never had a problem with them.

Doubt I will bother to activate the Visa BC they have sent.

I suspect some numpty came up with the plan to send out all the cards, and all the PIN numbers a month in advance, but not allow the PIN number to be changed until 6th November, so everyone will have their PIN number hanging around their wallet or their house.....if theyve not lost it yet. Duh.

I've already highlighted security concerns because my was sent out ages ago.
    I think I was told to stop being a whinger :-) but I agree it's a concern.

I don't think you have a choice - it seems like an automatic activation.

Which is exactly what I did when it arrived. Then I phoned Egg and told them that I had loved them dearly, as a CC provider they have been marvellous and I would truly miss them, but that barclaycard can shove it because their customer service is second only in its mediocrity to Santander.

The lovely gentleman at Egg then cancelled my Egg account which will apparently subsequently close the BC one.

I will miss the Egg money manager though... useful little tool.
You had me at your proper use of "you're".

I got my new Mastercard at the end of September. I can't understand why it arrived so early given that it can't be used until 7th November....

Could the cards already be active?

Anyone received word about online servicing yet... because apparently that is meant to be coming soon....?
