Hi Lionheartedgirl
Thanks, I hope the kids behave as well, otherwise I'll be leaving home! xx0 -
Good Morning
I hope everyone is having a lovely christmas and that Santa visited. We all had a lovely day and the kids appreciated their presents, DS hasn't put his kindle down yet, he's delighted with it :j
Santa was very good to me, he brought me new GHDs :j and lots of other lovely things as well.
Christmas lunch was lovely, we had a prawn cocktail starter, roast turkey and all the trimmings and Eaton Mess for desert, plenty of bubbly was drunk so in all it was a very successful day!
The rest of the week is going to spent visiting the in-laws and friends, we've promised DD that she can go and spend some vouchers that she got for Christmas as well.
Right better go and have some breakfast and try out my new GHDs :j0 -
Hi Choo, glad you had a lovely Christmas. I really could do with some new GHD's. I keep smelling burning but I dont know if thats just cos of the protein spray ive been using on my hair . Santa brought me a curling wand, but I havent mastered the art of it yet!!!
Have a lovely week xxMummytogirls x0 -

Good Morning
Hello Pennywise and Mummy :hello:
Not much going on today, just a quick visit to let DD spend her vouchers and buy DS some new trainers, when DH gets out of his pit!
I need to do a meal plan for next week and go shopping at some point - either tomorrow or Saturday! We've promised the kids that we'll have a nice New Year Eves dinner with them and they've asked for steak! I'll get them 2 small ones and bulk it up with hm chips and salad.
Not much else to report, the house isn't too untidy we've managed to keep on top of it.
We looked at kitchens again yesterday and have another builder round today to give us ideas how to maximise the space that we have. It is going to mean adding onto the mortgagebut if we have to sacrifice other areas of spending I think it can be justified. We use the kitchen/extension space every day and its going to improve our homelife significantly. I'll just have to work extra hard at my self-employed job and find new clients and any future bonus that DH might get can be used to pay off the extra mortgage borrowing.
Breakfast time, hope everyone has a lovely day xxx0 -
Morning Choo,
Glad youve had a nice Christmas so far.
The kitchen sounds lovely. Its been our plan to knock through into the dining room for quite some time now but weve just not been able to afford it. Id be dead excited at the thought of that so you must be excited getting people round and the dream is closer!!!
Have a lovely day today xxMummytogirls x0 -
Good Morning
Thanks for your encouragement Mummy, I am excited about it but also apprehensive about it all as well x
Today is going to be a spendy day, I need to do a shop at Mr S as we don't have any meals planned/bought for yet so I need to get my butt in gear and get sorted. The kids are going to Grandmas this afternoon so DH and I can have a quick pop to the shops without the terrors!
Todays list
Think of my good/bad list for 2011
Meal plan and shop
Washing
Quick tidy round
Visit some friends later for drinks
Had a wander round the sales yesterday and didn't buy anything, not in the mood for it but just couldn't be bothered as well! Pre MSE I loved shopping but not anymore, I like nice things but have realised that I don't need cupboards of stuff to look nice. Just a few items every season does me now and I mix and match more now. If someone sees me wearing the same thing more than once - so be it, who cares?
Right breakfast time xxx0 -
Happy New Year everyone and all the best for 2012!
So before I launch into the usual humdrum daily stuff which probably bores everyone to death :rotfl:I want to have a quick reflection on what was achieved in 2011
1) Became debt free (mortgage and car loan excluded)
2) Qualified as an Accountant
3) Set proper budgets and stuck to them
4) I no longer own a credit card :j
5) Paid for Christmas 2011 by cash
6) Discovered the joys of surveys and that I can earn a little extra to treat myself and the kids with :j
7) Realised that I am a valuable member of staff at work and appreciated by my boss
8) Rediscovered my passion for cooking and baking - love the quiet time in the kitchen cooking up a storm
9) Organised myself properly re meal planning and getting the ironing done
10) Realised that material items don't make you happy
11) I can now walk into a clothes shop/make up department/any shop and realise that I don't have to buy anything
12) Appreciate what we have and don't envy other people :j
Things to achieve in 2012
1) Lose half a stone (for a starter)
2) Count my NSDs
3) Keep a tighter rein on the grocery budget - only go to the shop once a week
4) Find more clients for the self-employed side of my business
5) Get rid of the remaining clutter - Ebay will remain my NBF
6) Socialise more - a start has been made but room for improvement
7) Start to get the house sorted :j
That should keep me going xxxx0 -
Well done Choo, you have achieved good things in 2011. I am so sure 2012 will be good for you xxMummytogirls x0
