    Hello Choo,

Just popping in for a quick catch up! Sounds like you have been busy, keep up the good work!

Oohhh the 2012 challenge sounds like a good one, I know what you mean re the underspend on the shopping, so does that mean you get to take out of it if you overspend on the shopping :rotfl: xx

    Hi Mummy
It does sound like a good challenge and abit of friendly competition never goes amiss. I will be trying very hard to stay within grocery budget next year, so hopefully it won't need to be taken out x

Hi Choo, just read your diary and really enjoyed it. You seem to get SO much done. I'll subscribe in the hope that you might inspire me to get my lazy bum into gear!!

    Hi Hjanea,

Thanks for subscribing, I should really try and not do as much, there always seems to be so much to do and not enough time to get it done.
I noticed that you have a diary, I shall be popping across and having a read xxx

    Good Morning

Another windy, wet night, perfect for a cosy evening in.

I have wrote and posted my christmas cards, so thats another thing off my to do list. I'm going to pop to Mr A on the way home from work as we're running low on milk and want to buy an oven cleaning kit as well. I'm not planning on grocery shopping until Friday so might pick something up for tomorrow and Thursday nights dinner.

I have another sore throat and feel really tired, hopefully it will clear up before next week but I'm feeling pretty rubbish. Must set a good example to the kids though and not take a day off work.

I'm looking forward to breaking up from work and having a rest, we've tried not to book ourselves up too much over christmas so that we can enjoy the break.
MIL is babysitting next Friday (23rd) so DH and I get have a meal out together before the chaos commences!

Not much else to report, busy day at work ahead, don't know where the boss is at the moment no doubt he will make an appearance soon.

Hope that everyone has a lovely day xxx

    Good Afternoon

Another busy weekend on the cards, so my list for the weekend

    Washing
    Decorate 2 christmas cakes
Defrost and wash out utility room fridge
    Make and freeze cranberry sauce
Make and freeze sage and onion stuffing
    Make and freeze sausage rolls
    Ironing
Practice making mini quiches for New Years Day family buffet

Its a lovely sunny day so we're heading out for some fresh air later and will then tackle a few items on the list.

There are jacket potatoes in the oven for lunch and I'll make a chicken tagine and cous-cous for dinner tonight.

    Good Morning

Another cold, frosty start to the day here and rain is forecast for tomorrow!

The chicken tagine was gorgeous last night, I served it up with a lemon, mint and parsley cous cous and DH wolfed it down. I also made the stuffing and cranberry sauce and braised a red cabbage with spices, apple and onion so these are now in the freezer for next weeks big event.
We're having a day at home today to try and get through all the jobs and TBH I'm not wanting to go out in the cold anyway so its a good excuse to stay in and keep warm.

DD drawers which we keep in her built in wardrobe are broken beyond repair and they're driving me mad as I can't open them to put stuff away so I think a job for DH over the holidays will be to build some cheap shelving in there and then I'll buy some plastic tubs to slot onto the shelves. I can then allocate a tub for different items of clothing such as tops, leggings etc.

Right I am now going to sort out the garage freezer and bring the utility room freezer stuff back inside and try to get some sort of order in the garage freezer again.

Dinner tonight will be boiled ham, mash and veggies. I cleaned the oven out the other day so I'm not cooking another roast in it until next week.

Another waffle from me, have a good day xx
  • Sounds like you have a busy day Choo, hope you get everything done.. im sure you will :D xx

Hi Mummy and Pennywise, thanks for popping by xxx

Pennywise - I didn't manage to get the cakes iced, make the sausage rolls or mini quiches, will try and get the cakes done tonight.

Just today and tomorrow at work and then thats me done until 2012. :j

DH is doing my head in at the moment, I am trying so hard to stick to our budgets and save up for ski-ing etc but DH just seems to think its acceptable to keep withdrawing money from the bank with the excuse "Its christmas" arrghh - he might have to be treated like a child soon and have his bank card confiscated. He has his monthly allowance, why can't he stick to it?

I'm going to do my bank reconciliation tomorrow night and show him the consequences of going over budget! I feel like just handing everything over to him and letting him get on with it all!

Rant over, back to work :(

    Good Morning

Another item got ticked off the list last night, I finally got my own personal business accounts upto date - Bad Choo! Next time I won't leave it a whole year to do, however I now have a beautiful template set up so next years will be a whole load easier to keep on top of.

Last day at work today before the holidays :j so I need to clear my desk and make sure that everything is upto date.

I still haven't iced my cakes so hopefully will get a chance to do so tonight - not my favourite way of spending an evening as its too much fiddling, faffing and usually very messy!

DH has just got tomorrow at work so I need to find something with the kids to do but if the weathers as grim as today we might be struggling.

    Right back to work xxx
