    Hi Mummy, Pennywise and Lionheartedgirl

Today has been a relaxing day, no rushing round seeing family or entertaining, just a walk with the kids and a chill out afternoon. Well the chill out afternoon comprised of ticking a few items off my sit down list.

We've been watching the 2nd series of Idiot Abroad (brilliant) and Karl Pilkington (fab, fellow Northerner :j) is working his way through a bucket list, got me thinking about what would go on my own bucketlist, so far I have come up with the following:-

    1) Drive an Aston Martin
    2) See the Northern Lights
    3) Go whale watching in Alaska
    4) Go sk-ing in Whistler
    5) Play with a roomful of kittens :rotfl:
    6) Have dinner in a Michelin starred restaraunt
    7) Meet Michel Roux Jnr

Back to work on Wednesday so tomorrow is going to be spent taking the decorations down, taking a few christmas presents back, sorting out the shoe/coat cupboard (I waste half my life in that cupboard) and I also need to get the ironing and washing up to date.

Another big job is to ring the bank and sound them out about borrowing the extra money for the kitchen plans (shouldn't be any problems but who knows in this current climate)

The diet starts tomorrow so we're just enjoying a glass of wine and chilling out tonight xx

    Good Afternoon

Is it time for the kids to go back to school yet? One more day to go and the teachers can have them back :rotfl:

I have had a chat with the bank, I thought it would be a quick 5 minute job but 40 minutes later and they've agreed it in principle subject to credit checks/scoring etc so its put my mind at rest. They also said that the extra mortgage that we looked at could be overpaid at 20% per month so thats something to definitely aim for. So now we need to hammer the build cost down and negotiate some serious savings with kitchen designers/flooring etc.
A frightening prospect was that the bank will lend upto 4.75 times DH salary - very scary number!

I have also wrote some letters to 2 dormant credit card accounts that are in DH name that we used for the 0% transfers to be closed down, theres a combined balance of £16k available so I want that off the credit file before we apply for the mortgage.

    Back to my jobs xxx
  • Hi choo, glad things went well with the bank, nearly 5x OH salary is a frightening thought.

    Good Morning

Pennywise - its a frightening thought, I can't believe banks will still lend that type of ratio!

Its my first day back today and my desk looks like a bomb has gone off!

The kids were ready to go back to school, DD is been a right madam at the moment and is getting worse by the day, she winds DS up all the time, won't let him have a minutes peace and in general is a pain in the ar*e! I don't know what to do with her, she could drive a saint to distraction.

The decorations were taken down yesterday and as much as I love Christmas its nice to get back into routines and some sort of normality.

Anyway its a work hard day today, I've made a cottage pie for tea tonight so will only have to prep some veggies to go with it when I get home.

    List for tonight

    1) Prep veggies
    2) Finish pile of washing
    3) Help kids with homework/reading books/spellings
    4) Make pack ups
    5) Ironing

I also need to get back into a regular bedtime routine as over Christmas I've been going to bed at 11.30pm, not sleeping properly and then waking early as well.

    Back to work xxxx
  • First day back for me as well, was a little crazy but sure things will be back to normal by the end of the week.

My kids are also driving me nuts, DS is just horrid at the minute and i'm quite happy to hand him over to school for most of the day.

We are also having cottage pie for tea tonight.
  • i hope things settle down for you soon choo :) i'm glad to be back in a semi-routine now christmas is done too!!

-still working on kids bedtimes though, they've only just gone up and are usually in bed for 7pm latest!

Love the lists of achievements & goals :D look forward to see you marking them all off now ;) lol xx

    Good Morning

Thanks for poppng in DFW :hello:

Another windy, wet night last night, I slept right through it until 5am when DD woke up needing the loo. I'm in work today to make up for not working Tuesday and then its my day off tomorrow.

I didn't manage a NSD yesterday as I had to top up my bus pass :(

I really need to start planning my own lunches out for work as well as today I've got a cheese sandwich - not very inspiring! The plan for today is

    1) Work
    2) Help kids with homework/reading/spellings
    3) Finish the ironing - started last night but then got distracted by Mamma Mia :o
    4) Make pack ups
    5) Meal plan and shopping list

Hope everyone has a lovely day xxx

    Good Afternoon

Just a quick pop in to say hello!

I've done my shopping this morning - £38 Aldx £30 Mr S, not too bad as I've restocked on bread flour, shampoo and other essentials, the fridge looked so bare this morning.

This afternoon is going to be spent cleaning downstairs properly as its been neglected over christmas but now everythings packed away I'm going to give it a good clean.

We're having another builder round in the morning so hopefully we should be able to start making a decision soon on which one to use, it just takes forever to get them round, get their quotes back etc, good job we're not in a rush!

Better go and clean up xxx
