The adventure farm I took the kids to yesterday was fun, DD1 spent alot of her time jumping in mud puddles and bahhing at the sheep. DD1 thought the slide was brilliant mainly because she flew down it and landed it a huge muddy puddle I hope the mud comes out of her clothes I have just finished washing it but havent checked yet :D

glad you had fun and hope the clothes wash ok. I love seeing the little ones get dirty but it's a b*gger to clean up after them.

I have sat down today and done a budget, I thought we were £200 down then after reading Grannys diary I realised DHs car tax is due  so we are £270 down :(. I dont know whether to start panicking now or later :o

I have a few things i'm going to try

    1. Get DD1 dry night times - save £10 Nappies
    2. Try DD2 on the Aptamil follow on milk - Save £20 (shes ill with normal milk.
    3. Panic :rotfl:

    oops sorry :o
I dont begrudge DS going to his friends birthdays if anyone remembers the problems with bullying (older kids not a nice secondary school) before I moved him into this new school its nice to see him so popular and happy BUT why cant kids be happy for £1 in a card like we were as kids :rotfl:or like granny a lump of coal :rotfl::rotfl:

and when have I ever said I'm happy with a lump of coal?!? Should i go back through my diary and check because I don't remember writing that nugget of information :rotfl:

a lump of chocolate maybe but never coal :rotfl:

  • I'm still on cloud nine and having the dates for the training seems to have lifted my spirits completely I have been dreaming of our future which seems much brighter! My mum will have the children it looks like she will be coming to us as it coincides with her having a week off and she would like to visit Cheddar, Wells, and Cardiff. DH has also managed to book the time off.:D

DS has another party tonight and a swimming party tomorrow I forgot to get cards so will sort this out and he can take to school on Monday. DD2 has found her feet and is now walking, if she didnt sleep all day and night she would be much further on but she does like her sleep!:j

Our phone line is still not working this is coming up to 4 weeks now, I really need to renew our Working families tax credits or we will lose them, DS' mobile is the only one which works in the house so I may have to find and extra £5 from our -£270 and put some credit on and call them (or £10 with the amount of time they make you hold!)

You may have noticed I have avoided the money subject .... I still need to find £270.:o

  • oh rubbish news about being down on the budget :( i know it's no help now, but why don't you get a post office budget card for next years car tax, i put £25 away each pay day on it so i can pay it off for a year.

Great news about ds attending so many parties as like your ds, my one was bullied and it's a joy when you know they are invited to things and have friends, but like you say the costs mount up. I'm a tightwad though and don't care who knows it i spend 35 max on each party present ;) p.s happy belated birthday to the boy :D

AND finally fab news about the fostering :T my friend last year finally got through all the fostering interviews, courses etc and had her first child just before xmas he stayed for 6 months and she is now awaiting her second i think :) very rewarding work i hear! But we've no room for our kids lol never mind anyone elses otherwise it may have been a route i could have looked into :) xx

  • Had a fun couple of days!

DS had a sleepover on friday which didnt quite go to plan, the birthday boy sent the invites out without his mums knowledge :rotfl:when I arrived to collect him she was looking shell shocked at having an extra 4 children :rotfl: I had been trying to call her for over a week as the invite didnt have an address or time for DS to be collected and couldnt get through, so I asked DS to take his mobile to school so I could call him once he got there!

Today he was going swimming for the boys birthday (his mum knew about this :D) I asked her what time when I collected DS and she said 11 so we turn up at 11 and the place is empty it dont open till 11:45, I left DS to wait for them he got bored and wondered off then was late back and had to use the emergency money I left him to pay for himself

I have never ever met such an unorganised family it makes me look like Mary Poppins :rotfl:

  • At last a productive day been wombling receipts at Asda, come home and put the receipts we collected through their online price check and had £9.14 on 1, £3.60 and another and £1.50 on a 3rd so we went back to Asda and got 2 nice outfits for DD1 completely free :j:j:j she really needed some clothes as somehow we are missing a load .. my guess is she has taken them out of her bag at nursery and its all in the lost property so will check it next week if I remember :o

Hope everyone made the most of the sunshine and not just for getting the washing on the line :D we dropped DS off to his friends then took the girls to the park so DD1 had a nice run around while DH and I sat in the sun and had a natter.

  • Schools out :j:j suns out :j:j I'm hoping to be able to make use of our beautiful surroundings over the holidays :D Lots of free days out if the weather remains nice :D

I have been a little quiet lately I have had a few things on my mind I have been poorly lately and last saturday had to go to the hospital for a cervical and pelvis scan to rule out cervical cancer. We have no phone (still!!) so today I nipped into the doctors to see if the hospital had been in touch, I spoke to the receptionist who confirmed they had, she went off to speak to the doctor to see if they needed to see me or if I was just to re-book if I get any further problems. The receptionist came back and said "don't panic but the doctor would like you to make an appointment early next week" Tell me not to panic and the first thing I'm going to do is panic :o I can't tell my husband I'm worried as he will start fussing and I really wouldn't like that :o I can't say anything to my mum as shes already worried as she had cervical cancer at my age :( I tried to talk to my younger sister but she didn't listen :o.

My logical head is telling me its nothing maybe a cyst or some scar tissue anyway sorry for going on but had to get it out before I went mad.
