  • OH got over his strop quickly when I said he maybe better off staying behind lol

We are back although DS was having fun catching up with his old school friends so he asked his Nanna if he could stay until the fostering course in 2 weeks when I will either take the girls to my mum or bring my mum and dad here for a week or so. I'm missing him already lol

My friends wedding was lovely, I feel really pleased she invited us there was only 20 people (inc Bride & Groom) during the day, so it was a really small but really nice. They had invited about 30 more in the evening although they all left early as they had children and being mid week they also had work the next day.

We got home to a nice pile of post and for a change it was nice!
DH had a letter from the college to say they would pay 60% of course fees so only has to pay them £436 they will also be sending him a chq in Oct for £130 and another in Feb towards travel costs, another letter from Housing benefit to say they had miscalculated after DH had returned to work as they only had his contract and now they had his wage slip so took tax and NI into consideration so a payment of £150 was made into my account and future payments will increase while DH is at college and uni also due to tax and NI being taken into consideration or Council Tax is now £15 per month!

DH goes part time soon so everything will change again soon, I can't wait untill everything is settled DH working as a teacher and me fostering I hate not being in control of what money is coming in and when!

Hope everone is well I will catch up on diarys soon x

  • I have had a busy week so far I'm really missing DS 1 more week and I will see him:j:j:j:j:j:j:j I think DD1 is missing him too as she keeps phoning him on her toy phone and then telling me he really wants to come home, (she hasn't got anyone to fight with!:rotfl:)

I found a pile of clothes today which have been left out in the rain someone (DH) must have swapped some dry clothes for wet on the washing line got distracted and left the clothes on the bench, the bench is directly under the window so I didnt see them! I know it wasn't me as the clothes are not folded :rotfl:

I have been clearing out the garage, I loaded the car yesterday with stuff for the tip and will be re-filling the car over the next few days for a carboot on sunday.

I have been looking at ideas for the girls for christmas (given up on son lol hes a funny age and has everything!) I have seen something on pininterest I am going to attempt to make the blue dress up thing, I will look around carboots, charity shops etc for nice dressing up bits. What do you think? I dont think the girls will mind a mix of homemade and secondhand the hubbys not so sure. They will get other bits which are new.

    Hi HBI,
Been following you for a while now. (feel like a stalker). Our local poundland always has some lovely dressing ups bits in. If you start now,you would be able to get a number of different outfits by christmas, without breaking the bank.
  • Thanks Own my Own I will have a look next time i'm in town, don't be a stalker x

  • ooh my DD would love dressing up clothes as a pressie :) she already has a whole box full. Last xmas we got her 5 pairs of disney shoes in te£co for £7 (in the sale) and also some dressing up outfits on ebay (second hand but arrived like new!) and spent less than £15 for loads of stuff! I'm not sure what i'm getting her this year but so far she's into barbie this year and although i've handed down tonnes of dolls & clothes i am sure she could always do with more :p;)

Hello HBS I'm sure your DD would love that dressing up thing. I know my DGD1 would as she loves dressing up. I'm doing up a dolls house for Xmas that I was given a few years ago. It looks really scruffy right now but I have some indoor masonry paint and other bits and pieces to make it look like new. I have already got working lights and some furniture for it so am sure it'll be really good and at about a fraction of the cost than if I got one in a toy shop, plus being a Granny creation she'll like it all the more.

I love the thought of your DD ringing your DS on her toy mobile, so cute.

Hope you had a good time in away.

    Speak soon Granny x

  • I have decided to make it, they will love it if DH wants them to have new he will have to earn more! lol

I had a busy day mystery shopping today, I don't know if I have filled in the form correctly so hoping I get paid. They ask you to cover lots of questions but only give you 250 characters to write it all up so lots missed out! We shall see. Hopefully will get £30 back as £10 per job.

I have phoned DS every day since he has been at my mums I don't like it I wish he was home, DD1 whipped the phone off me today and had a good old natter with him mainly about nothing lol. I think he is also missing home a little bit as he was really chatty.

You made a comment on my blog about being disciplined and how.I dont want to worry about what drops through my letterbox or who turns up at my door.I want to save to have one proper holiday a year and have savings.Im getting too old for this debt lark and this recession is a killer for the self employed.:)
