Afternoon everyone, well after a late start I'm starting to get a little more motivated today, not been very well which makes it a bit more tricky to get motivated.

Happy Birthday Lillibet! Hope you have a nice day :D

Valentine and Roz my thoughts are with you both

Moggins hope your little DD is feeling better soon

Crazychik sounds like you had a gut feeling something wasn't right, I get those a lot and go by them, there will be many more suitable for you I am sure, always best if your gut feeling is something not quite right to walk away. In all honesty MOTs sometimes are not worth the paper they are written on, as they can be 'obtained' rather than the car being tested genuinely, I am usually more cautious with a car which has 'just passed MOT' and will ask around if the garage it was tested at is known to do 'bought' MOTs.

My dehydrator has arrived but have decided to do all my jobs before trying it out or it'll never get done. Just spend an hour in my oldest sons room, so much to do in there was unreal, he'd spent 20 minutes in there this morning and managed to make an hours worth of tidying up! I think if I stay on track it'll be better as once I am distracted it all goes out of the window.

DP has had to go into work much earlier as it's been extremely quiet, that plus the taxi breaking down last week means we've had about £60 income in 2 weeks, pleased I have some money put aside or we'd have been up the creek without a paddle! This time last year I'd have been snookered but with what I have saved we have a bit put aside which will hopefully tide us over, just about to do a meal plan which includes as little buying as possible as need to tighten belts a bit more over the next few weeks.

Darn windy here, fence has moved again so had to prop it up, apart from going out with the dogs me and the 2 DSs will not be leaving the house, brrrrr! too cold!
Right, got a few more threads to post on, few emails to sort and check eBay and see what's selling, then best crack on with the rest, hope you all have a nice day :)
One day I might be more organised...........

Coleslaw - tried an experiment the other day and froze the cabbage, carrot and onion chopped/grated in a bag. The idea was to defrost it and add the dressing. Guess what ? It doesn't work - one big soggy bag of veg  Still you live and learn ;)

    Afternoon everyone :)

thanks for all the thoughts... told my sister about you all and, although she thinks I'm crazy, was really touched.

chardonnay - yes it's them who throw the litter. It's not our garden they throw it into, it's like a fenced off gravelled area in front of the flats that acts as a kind of buffer to the pavement. Such a state  Have reported this to the management company as well as the noise so hopefully they'll do something... the whole case has also been passed onto Env. Health for all the good it may do!!

work this morning was very very quiet!! I only served two people and both were lovely so didn't feel my wrath :rotfl: sorted some replacement earrings for a customer as well and he was really chuffed as they've been discontinued but his father bought them for his wife shortly before he passed away and she'd broken them, and he's surprising her on Valentines Day with the replacements as, when she'd phoned the shop, we'd told her they were impossible to get hold of ;) (deliberately mind, so that she didn't cotton on to the surprise!!)

Then just as I got home, I had a text off a friend of mine who's absolutely amazing, haven't seen her in ages and she texted me to say that she'd been into the shop to see me but they told her I'd left 5minutes earlier :( gutted about that as she's got 4 kids under 6 (inc twin boys who were born two months premature in July) and we don't often get to meet up.

Anyway, back in bed now and guna try and sweat this cold out.

    Love to all :grouphug:

    Roz xxx

ps. (((Valentine))) thinking of you at this difficult time - definately chill and relax this weekend :)

HAPPY 21st LILLIBET [again] ;) :rotfl:

Oh thank the lord for a decent doctor! DD was prescribed paracetemol suposatries (sp) as she couldn't keep anything down, the doctor faxed the prescription to our nearest chemist so we didn't even have to visit the surgery. DH picked them up, I had the fun job of inserting them :( She is now bounding around the house (as opposed to lying wanly in her bed) and has kept down 3 breadsticks in 3 hours. Yippee!! I was so worried this morning that I didn't even catch the doctors name, I wish I had so I could thank her.

well car boot was pretty poor but i still managed to spend 12 pounds. hubbie saw a stall selling these cool hair clips from south africa - they are brill for holding my very thick naturally curly hair, i got a demonstration and then hubbie bought me one. they are flexible and really comfy. most of the stalls were selling junk and it was very quite due to time of year.

spent a few hours on phone to family and ordering mil special tablets from new zealand with manuka honey and bee venom in them. she's worried about her broken ankle getting infected as it still has a raw wound under the stookie and she sufers badly from arthritis which the bee venom is supposed to help.

still need to get my act together and do some housework but the weather is getting me down.

hugs to valentine and happy birthday lillibet (next year make sure the dinner party is not at your house)

Moggins if you ask at your surgery they'll be able to tell you as it'll be on her notes, sounds like you got one with some sense, doesn't happen too often in my experience, and pleased to hear your little DD is feeling better.

Thanks lil-me, I work for a car dealership, and the company is the same "Make" as the car we viewed. Not saying I know a great deal about cars, but enough to ask the questions and stumble the seller! IYSWIM. He openly admitted he brought to sell on to make a small profit. There was no history and he couldn't really answer my ?'s. So thats what put me off.
When you have been looking for cheap run-around cars, for as long as OH has I think you get a rough idea what the going rate is.

Ive played a game with DD on the PS2, Jungle Buzz - Its brilliant. Im hopeless with these games, but enjoyed this 1. Its for ages 3+ so suits me to the ground.

All bedding has been ironed, ready to change after my break. Bathroom & downstairs loo cleaned, hall & kitchen mopped & swept. 3 loads of washing done so far, TD & DW now on. Just front room to hoover & dust. Then thats me done!

Happy Birthday lillibet - enjoy your day!

Catch you later again - xxx
